Direct to consumer and retail

Q Acoustics is a company that sells their products direct to consumer and also have their products in approximately 25 retail/online stores in the US. The price of their products, specifically the Concept 50, is the same in both. How is this possible?

They are keeping their direct prices higher to not undersell their retailers. It happens in businesses where direct and retail sales are both available.

You didn't actually believe buying a product directly from a manufacturer that also sells thru retailers would be less?

If so, you've got some learnin to do.

I was surprised to see SVS subs being sold in Best Buy/Magnolia.  Not sure how that works as a business model and seems unnecessary.

@soix A friend of mine is a BB/Mag install supervisor. She says the majority of their installs are "S3" -- soundbars, satellites, and subs. Klipsch and SVS are their biggest sub sellers.

If you don't have a local dealer, some manufacturers will let you buy directly from them, and give you a discount.
