Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive?

Just curious. People have asked about watches,
cigars, beer, and even ones income here.

1: What do you drive (daily & weekends)?
2: What might you be driving in the future?
3: What would you drive if $$$ was no object (pick 2 ;-)?

My answers to the above:
1: Toyota truck.
2: Newer Toyota truck.
3: Lamborghini Murcielago & McLaren F1.

3) If money were no object, I wouldn't have just one car! How about:

a) MINI Cooper S for grins
b) Auburn Boattail Speedster to start my vintage collection
c) Ferrari. Any Ferrari.
d) Alfa Duetta Spider, before the tail got squared off, because it was my dream car in my distant youth.

1) None.
2) I don't know; something to haul stuff around in.
3) I'd buy a garage space to park it first; then a MB SL55 AMG.

Anyone else car free?

If I sold my stereo I could by a resonable car- but I would rather have the stereo
Porsche Boxter and Aston Martin (comes with a Linn stereo)
Is this thread still running? Well, about a year ago I was driving a Citroen ZX, of which I managed to blow up the engine. I traded it for an ancient Ford Fiesta, which I traded for a Nissan Primera, which is still running...... just, so I think it's time to look for another car. Just one thing is consistent trouhg the last 3 years: my car-stereo! A Sony CD-player receiver with a separate 10-CD changer, most of the time worth more then the car it is mounted in. So it seems I don't spend a lot of money on cars, but I don't spend it on my home-stereo as well. So where the hell is al my money going to? Maybe I should quit eating and drinking and buy a decent car......

2k Audi S4 took all my 51st birthday steam this summer. A German-reprogrammed chip allows 306 hp and a whopping 366 ft-lbs torque over a ridiculously wide band such that I need only use gears 1, 2, 4 & 6 to hustle to 125. Cheap BBS VX 8x17 wheels with Sumitomo HTR+ AA AS look a bit proud, and although unfortunately squirmy, will provide yearround use. Chasing this stuff, August in Italia, and unremitting back pain have kept me from the A'gon forums, so it's nice to check in with you guys. And it's fun to surprise all those M3s and 540s! And that leaves a mighty nice 2000 Subie GT black AWD sedan for sale at only $11k! RSVP if interested....Ern
Dunno if I qualify as "typical," but I love my 2001 Mazda Miata Special Edition in British Racing Green. I smile every time I drive anywhere. The "car talk" guys were right when they said it (Miata) is the most fun you can have with your pants on.

Cheers
Ernie,
I love them Audi with big turbos. I used to have a Quattro Turbo Coupe which only has a 2.2 liter 5 valve engine. But, the torque is so strong that I "powershift" from 1 to 3 to 4 to get to 100mph... UPHILL!
1) 2003 Acura Legend TL Type-S
2) BMW 7 Series
3) Aston Martin DB something or other
Yes, the saint did drive a volvo c70 in the movie. I am not sure what the saint in the old movies drove, though. But I am thesaint519. Not quite the same thing. But great observation.
My daily driver is a Mazda Millenia. My other car is an all out assault 93' Mazda Rx-7 with 450+hp that I tinkered around with in college. I used to think people who put 20k+ audio systems in their cars were crazy. Come to think of it, I still do. I can understand a costly home system, but in a car? I used to drag race on occasion and made a lot of effort to lighten up the car, not throw a 200 lb. amp and speakers into it, but that's an entirely different show.
and when I grow up, I'll be driving a rocket propelled car that switches into a jet at the switch of a button, you know, to avoid traffic and what not.
I have fond memories of "The Saint", fonder memories of the beautifull Volvo (had a few friends, that each a few of them), but the fondest memories were of Dianna Riggs in those clingy outfits.
Corvette, '97 C5, one helluva bad azz car. Running well over 500HP with Nitrous. It's also one of my hobbys. Oh, yea it's blk on blk, very nice looking, imo.
