It's convenient to beat on the US given their "colorful" president, but that in no way changes that Belgium, Spain, Italy, France, UK, Spain and Sweden, so far, have more deaths as a portion of population. Given that the U.S. population is in general "unhealthier" with very high rates of obesity and diabetes, perhaps the microscope needs to be turned equally well on these other countries.

I’m more than a little bit disappointed they haven’t tried playing some Slim Whitman music to se if that kills the virus. It worked in Mars Attacks which I assume was a real event. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work here. They have no imagination. Alternatively they could try what was successful in the case of Noriega who was holed up in a bungalow in Panama and that’s play Ted Nugent’s Cat Scratch Fever at space volume 24/7, which probably would have been more effective had Noriega not liked Ted Nugent, intelligence bungled that one, too. But all this talk about the coronavirus dying out in warm weather and just wait for the vaccine is pure poppycock.

So I have sat for 2 hours to read this thread and found that some posters who I regarded as nuisances, have more sense than those I thought might have better sense.
I am as horrified as most reading the COVID statistics in the US and is going to be around for some time. I am as as concerned for the rest of the globe regarding the virus.
Interestingly Greenland has suffered the least, but their locale helps.
Most of all I wish my best to everyone and stay healthy.

@glupson no 60 miles as we do everything BIG here.
No really our issues have not been as politically charged other than the crazy Dallas County Judge and the hairdresser from a political standpoint. This is a hometown rule state and most of the time common sense prevails.

Social distancing. Many people are not practicing social distancing. They might say they are but they’re not. They might even think they are practicing social distancing but they’re not. I see it all the time. People believe social distancing means keep at least six feet from someone in front of you and six feet from someone behind you. But social distancing means keeping at least six feet from anyone in the vicinity, front, back, left right. Second the 6 feet rule is very arbitrary and something that was suggested very early on in the game. But now we know 6 feet is a bare minimum. No wonder social distancing has been a disaster. Come on, guys!

Last time I checked what they had was a steadily increasing case rate. Hope it turns out well, the increase is slow but steady so far, but that can get out of hand. |

Best thing we can do is something I did two years ago: Stop buying any product made in China if at all humanly possible.
It’s actually easier than it sounds. I previously worked in the manufacturing sector so I’m aware of supply chain issues and how components to otherwise American, EU, Japanese or Taiwanese products may have Chinese-made components in them. |
