Buying Used DACs

Hi. I have the opportunity to purchase a demo PS Audio Direct Stream Junior at a decent price. As it is no longer in production and PS Audio says (I contacted them) they may not have the parts to service it, how comfortable would you be in buying it? The seller is offering a 90 day warranty. Thanks for your input.

No thanks. Too many other excellent DAC options out there today to mess with older tech that might not be repairable. Price is not everything.

I would pass.   It will probably give a good service life but PS Audio has it on their obsolete/ no longer serviced list.

Soix nailed it, so many great DACs.   Never has there been a better time to buy a DAC no matter what your budget is

Personally I like to save a little and stretch the budget for that next level piece.  The DAC is your source, maybe you have all of your digital sources plugged in like I do.

You want to make sure you love the sound,  try to demo some below,  at , and beyond your target budget and let your ears decide.

Good call, OP. I don't know if this is an indicator or not, but there is a LOT of used PS Audio gear out on market.

@zoey1810 "Thanks all. Decided to pass on it."

With more new dacs available and competition helping to regulate prices some, this caused me to buy two new dacs in the past six months.  A few decent choices out there, even compared to just 2-3 years ago.

Add me to the Pass Brigade.  PSAudio also isn’t great about servicing “legacy “ products
