Any Technics 1200GR Owners With Arm Upgrades?

I searched a bit but never found a full discussion. Any owners or someone familiar try any combos that work? I get tired head looking as there seem to be many combos.

I would prefer an arm that would be closer to plug and play rather than making it work with shims and magic stuff. :)

Appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Nice Ralph!  I am novice enough to not fully understand what you mean but I would love to learn! Any links I can read and explore? Thanks everyone!

Nice. Thanks for the feedback! Anyone else have ideas or experience on this?

I like doing mechanical and car/engine type work...but I am very intimated messing with setting up Turntables.

I designed an armboard to replace the stock arm location. I've mounted only Triplanars on the SL1200 so far. Its a great machine- IMO the arm is one of the weak points, along with the platter pad. When those two things are sorted IMO the 'table is world class price no object.

I installed a TRU-GLIDER PENDULUM FLOATING TONEARM on my SL1200GAE and it’s incredible.

I would like to find some kind of arm board or pod I could mount a second arm to my 1200gr for 78’s. Eventually, I’m going to get a higher end TT ( maybe a 1200g) and dedicate the GR for 78s

Contact Jeff at Audiomods - he made a mounting plate for the arm a friend of mine  ordered from him for a similar turntable

His arms are spectacular as well

One of our members uses a SL1200G and added an Origin Live arm.  A new arm board had to be made.  I believe member and manufacturer Atmosphere did the mod.
