Any phono preamps with volume control?

Current Setup: Eversolo A6 Streamer, Emotiva XPA-2, Polk R700s.

Had a newb moment! I’ve been thinking about adding a turntable, and though I only needed a turntable and a Schiit Mani 2 preamp. Then, as I was staring at my current system today, it hit me that I wouldn’t have any way to control the volume while listening to the turntable. I feel like a dumb***.

I know one option is to add a Schiit Sys to the Mani 2, but are there any preamps with volume control?

I would suggest using the SYS with short interconnect cables between it and the Mani. That would also provide switching between TT and streamer.

Also the Quad 24p. Not dreadfully expensive and designed by Tim deParavicini!

Since you appear to be streamer-centric, another approach would be an Auralic Altair G2.1 or G2.2 streamer/DAC. Both have phono inputs to a decent-sounding MM phono stage, a line level input, and of course the streamer function. The volume control is high quality. One box replaces three; all functions are selectable from any programmed remote. If you want to run an MC cart, you can get a step-up transformer. I’m considering a second residence in a place where apartments tend to be small, and this is what I’d probably do. Add active speakers like ATC or PMC and you have a respectable minimalist system. I know that’s not your goal but the Auralics are excellent streamers in themselves (I have a G2.1), and replacing your current streamer with one would answer your need and let you ditch the preamp, too. Just a thought.

You can use a full-function pre-amp (both phono and line stages) for just a phono pickup. The tape out jacks (which are "fed" by whichever input the pre-amp’s selector knob is turned to) are located before the line stage and volume/gain control in the circuit, but the regular output jacks are at the end of the circuit, so the volume/gain knob can be used. HAS to be, actually.
