Alright, it's too quiet around here. Let's have some fun.

Let's say you're listening to whatever music mix you're into at the moment.  What's the one song that stands out from the rest that just makes you feel good above all the rest?  I was listening to Pandora yesterday after work and I'll be damned if this song doesn't do it for me:  Steely Dan's Hey Nineteen.  It never gets old.  I never get tired of it.  It's always the right time for it.  What's yours?

More fun "summertime-y" tunes:

- "This Whole World" and "Marcella" by The Beach Boys.

- "In The Summertime" by Mungo Jerry.

- "Summer In The City" by The Lovin’ Spoonful.

- "I Can See For Miles" by The Who.

- "Wine" by The Electric Flag.

- "(What’s So Funny ’Bout) Peace, Love, And Understanding" by Nick Lowe.

- "Summertime Blues" by Eddie Cochran (please, don’t play The Who’s hoary version when I’m in the room).

- "Glad All Over" by The Dave Clark Five.

- "Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison.

- "Handle With Care" by The Travelling Wilburys.

- "Money (That’s What I Want)" by Barrett Strong.

- "Paperback Writer" by The Beatles.

- "I’m Sorry (But So Is Brenda Lee)" by Marshall Crenshaw (a great, great song, written by Ben Vaughn).

- "Little Sister" by Elvis Presley.

- "Young World" by Ricky Nelson (killer guitar by James Burton).

- "Train Kept A-Rollin’" by The Rock ’n’ Roll Trio. If you’ve heard only the lame version by Aerosmith---which was merely their imitation of the okay version by The Yardbirds, do yourself a huge favour and listen to the Trio’s transformation of the original Blues by Tiny Bradshaw into this smoldering-hot Rockabilly masterpiece. Incendiary!

- "Shake, Rattle, And Roll" by Big Joe Turner (better imo than the cover by Bill Haley). I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing Big Joe sing this song backed by The Blasters at Club Lingerie on Sunset Blvd. in the mid-80’s.

- "So Long Baby, Goodbye" by The Blasters. There is a new LP just out of them performing live in ’86.

Old Motown tunes make me smile when they pop up - Sugar Pie Honey Bunch🎶

Roundabout, by Yes. It's a song that always makes me feel hopeful.

Won'dring aloud, by Jethro Tull. A short beautiful song that always makes me feel lucky to be loved by, and being with my girlfriend, and the years we've weathered so far and the ones to come.

Yeah, I put two in but when either one comes up, the magic of the music always hits me.

As soon as I open my eyes in the morning, it's "Good Morning Starshine" by Oliver.

Money To Burn - The Cyrkle

Open My Eyes - The Nazz

She's My Girl - The Turtles

Mr. Undeniable (45) - Cryan Shames
