Forward or laid back
" If we assume a loudspeaker is designed to deliver an essentially flat or neutral response with particular emphasis on the in room characteristics of the reproduction" Since you've ruled out anechoic response as a reference, who's room is the ref...
Forward or laid back
At first I thought the title "Forward or laid back" was a a question for debate or preference but I now see it is really an adamant statement of "Not forward or laid back".  Neutral this and that.  Fair enough.   But why start a new thread instead...
What is best turntable for listening to Rock from the sixties like Led Zeppelin?
That sixties/seventies sound was more a speaker thing IMO.  That's how Bose got their popularity.  Maybe try the JBL 12" 3-ways.  The cart on its own won't take you there.

Audio Research soft touch switches, how do you clean them
I use a pencil eraser (lightly) on both the metal and the rubber pad.  I treat the metal contact with Caig ProGold on a Q-tip.  works for me.
Cartridge Question
According to the PDF manual you need to (carefully) loosen a 2mm set screw in the front of the tonearm base. Lower the tonearm (carefully) so that it is parallel to the plinth when the record is playing. Tighten screw. Your height is probably fact...
Is it really night and day
A happy audiophile is not a shopping audiophile.
ARE YOU A " TRUE EXPERT AUDIOPHILE " ( T E A ) ???
I think we're already doing that.  Waxing philosophical about it is OK too.
ARE YOU A " TRUE EXPERT AUDIOPHILE " ( T E A ) ???
There is truth to be found in all of the answers.  Ultimately there is a talent involved that cannot be learned or taught.  That is genius.  Thinking that this thread can somehow make us all a genius is a flawed premise.  Good luck Raul.
