Hearing aids for audiophiles or musicians? I've researched quite a bit but never pulled the trigger on Widex which seems the most promising. My Signia are great for general use. But for music, not so much.
Audioquest PT6 counterweight question 🙋♂️ @boomerchuck I was able to download the manual by going to Library and searching AudioQuest and then Pt6. Nothing about a grub screw though, just setup instructions. I had the Pt7 a very long time ago and don't remember a grub screw. O ring fr...
Piano is just 300 years old? There's more. Ouch from both sides of the world. Let's not make political references even in jest. Thanks.

EtherREGEN or LHY SW-6? Anyone compare the 2? Thoughts/opinions? More EtherRegen trivia: I just tried "a" siding both ethernet cables, skipping the moat as per teknorob23. The video went flat and plain. It was so obvious I switched them back immediately. The moat does work, at least for video, where it's in...
EtherREGEN or LHY SW-6? Anyone compare the 2? Thoughts/opinions? @kingbr Yes. It could be the WW Starlight 8 spdif I used at the time was the limiting audio factor. The quality jumped with the WW Starlight silver spdif and jumped again with the WW platinum usb. Some of that improvement could be the cable/f...
EtherREGEN or LHY SW-6? Anyone compare the 2? Thoughts/opinions? I laid a digital thermometer on my Uptone this morning and 12 hours later it read 97F. For reference, I laid it next to the regen for an hour and it read 77F (room temp). It felt coffee mug hot to the touch. 97F is nothing. Hell, we’re 98.6! A...
Pass....Accuphase....or...... I had the XA-25. It is really good and will replace 18 Wpc no problem. I used it with 50W min speakers. There were a rare few recordings that would clip the highs momentarily at loud levels and I sold it. That was a mistake. I now have Corwal...
Is it the gear or the ears? It's all true. We're the damned. HELLLP! I need somebody HELLLP! I want somebody's! HE -E- ELLLP! where'd my beer get to? ah. next to the w...
RCA Interconnect recommendations Good logic since both the Cardas and the SFL-1 have a "kind" presentation. Also, the 12AT7 or CV4024 can have lost their sparkle. Tube rolling could be worth a shot. The new phono pre may have a voice in this too. Have fun!
Ether Regen and mesh? Yes! The one caveat with wifi is the Regen 100M download speed, plus I saw a 10% upload penalty. It doesn't affect me but online gamers would want to hard wire straight off the modem. I'll be content for now, no such luck with spares. Thanks for th...
What were your favorite gear additions in 2024? Klipsch Cornwalls. a party in a box (or two).
How much dirt is too much dirt I didn't expect a definitive answer but you never know until you ask, right? I did find that my garage lighting is horrendously noisy. It's cheap, bright 100W total LED strip lighting with a whopping 1,300 mv noise at the source, and a good p...
The end of physical media is neigh New players and media are readily available for all of the dead - vinyl, cd and now bluray. What's dying is us.
Enough is Enough "So now I say, maybe enough is enough; because no matter what I have some poster will tell me it's crap and I have to start over. " Nothing to see here. Move along. (Jedi) |
