Rippling cones I personally have used the KAB RF1 subsonic filter. Solved my issue with rumble and even in a pretty expensive system (~60K retail), had no negative impact on sound. I have not tried another option because this one worked very well
Long hiatus from audio, getting back into it, speaker/room help please Welcome to the forum and congratulations on being here. 1.7s are going to be awesome for you. They are a great speaker. Bryston is a pretty magical match with Magnepan but that is going to be a bit above your budget. If you can find a used Brys...
Magico A3 vs. Wilson SabrinaX Given your pricepoint, there are so many interesting options out there. I would check out:Vivid Kaya 45Wilson Benesch VectorYG Carmel IIVon Schweikert EndeavorI am running the Vivids and Wilson Benesch Vertexes with a 20w amp in a smaller room. ...
Dynaudio Confidence 30 vs. Focal Sopra 2 The Focals with Luxman ought to sound a bit more natural but there is a risk that you will move a little too forward. The Focals are a brighter speaker and Luxman gear should tame it but it will depend on the room. The Dyn's are less forward tha...
NAD M33 and which speakers? I am an NAD dealer and the M33 does well with a broad range of speakers. It is neutral to warm and that amp section punches well above its weight. I have had it hooked up with mine (Verdant), Wilson Benesch Vertexes, Vivid Kaya 45s and a pair of...
Help with Shortlist of Speakers! (SF vs Devore vs Others?) For what you describe, I would look at:Vandersteen - Treo, Treo CT, Quatro depending on your budget. These will deliver the exact sound you are looking for and pair well with mainstream electronics though they do like a little power. Spendor D7....
McIntosh MA252 or Pathos Classic One mkIII I would lean toward the McIntosh. Personal preference though. I think that Mc is more musical and engaging.
Speakers for 300B --- Klipsch Heresy 4 or other ideas??? I would definitely suggest Zu. They are brilliant speakers for the money and pair wonderfully with 300Bs.
ATC OR Musical Fidelity I have never heard the ATC. The Musical Fidelity is an awesome unit and a strong value. One of the perks of it being made in Taiwan is that it is modestly priced for its quality. From what I am reading, the ATC is designed for use with active s...
Which preamp for VAC Phi 170 IQ? The AVM is excellent for the money. It allows you to fine tune your output for a perfect match with the VAC. AVM is one of the easier preamps to match with other brands for that reason.
B&W speakers sounding very harsh? Have your run the Room correction? Audyssey often will help with those hard edges. If you haven't run it, try that and see if it helps.
Amp advise :) Are you not into tube amps anymore? A 300B will add a bit of warmth while a PX25 is a very happy middle ground between a 2A3 and the 300B. I have great experience with Art Audio gear and Esoteric. I would look at the Conductor preamp and either...
"Need" Roon, Bluesound Node, or or other streamer? There are two different approaches. Streamers and Servers/Renderers. A streamer (Node 2i, Naim ND5 XS 2, etc...) will allow you to control local files and streaming services. I have used a variety of these devices and like the Naim units the ve...
What Integrated Amp do You use AVM Evolution A5,2Canor AI 1.10These are the two that I have at the moment. I am biased toward separates but the link and being able to mono-block and link the preamp stages of theCanor AI 1.10 and 1.20 intrigues me.
Best preamp with built in phono stage? Highly flexible and technologically advanced, the AVM Ovation 8.3 is a really interesting unit. You select the inputs and outputs you want. The Phono stage is very good. Not quite as good as the flagship, standalone unit but quite good consider... |
