New Speakers $10K -$20K I would look at the Wilson Benesch Vector's and they will pair well with the WB Fulcrum as your center channel. I have the Vertexes here and they are one of the cleanest, most transparent speakers I have ever heard but without being bright. The ...
PS auido Direct stream Dac I had a DSD for several years. Sold it for $3500 about a year ago I think. It is excellent, though a bit dated and as others have pointed out, is no longer going to be updated.it was never clear that an update was going to make is sound better so...
AudioByte Vox | Zap vs Rockna Wavelight That is a great question. It can be controlled directly on the touch screen or via the app.
AudioByte Vox | Zap vs Rockna Wavelight I expect two pairs of Vox/Zaps to ship around the 20th of this month. I will get the compare done as quickly as possible after. The Hubs will most likely be about a month behind. My plan is to compare both of these to a Chord TT2 as well given ...
AudioByte Vox | Zap vs Rockna Wavelight The unit that is 4x the price is the Wavedream Signature. The Wavelight is $4950 while the HydraVox/Zap combo $4500 list. The difference is the Audiobyte is a pure FPGA DAC while the Wavelight is an R2R DAC with an FPGA front end. OCD Guy is no...
Has anyone compared the Terminator Plus to the Holo Audio May (KTE edition)? The difference between the 501 and 502 is the headphone amp. The 502 has a fully balanced headphone amp while the 501 does not. The DACs and other features are identical between the two units which is why there is only $1000 difference in price.
Has anyone compared the Terminator Plus to the Holo Audio May (KTE edition)? I just had a customer do a side-by-side between the Weiss 501 DAC and a Denafrips Terminator+ and he said it wasn’t even close. The Weiss is far better. He does place a premium on detail and imaging vs warmth. In addition to the Weiss 501 which i...
AVM SA 6.3 Stereo Amplifier - Any thoughts? Did you see Herb Reichart’s review of the A6.2ME Integrated in Stereophile? He does a good job of bringing to life the AVM sound which really can be stunning.
New summer home thinking about the following. I would be cautious in terms of going too warm in terms of amplification with that Border Patrol DAC. If you like a warmer sound, then this is a wonderful list and the A5.2 would be brilliant. Check out the review in Gary Beard’s review in Positiv...
SS Budget "Tone" Integrated Amplifiers In that range, I was going to suggest Rega. If you need more power, look at a used Elicit R. You might also look at Cyrus or Roksan. I am just learning the Cyrus line so not sure it there is anything that is a truly good fit based on your budge...
Why do people say low power amps should be good for bookshelf speakers? It depends. Many bookshelf speakers are not sensitive but also don't have deep bass response. When SPLs go up to high levels (and power draw goes high), usually it is at the lowest frequencies (below 40hz). You will rarely see frequencies above...
New summer home thinking about the following. What DAC are you using and any other sources? I just had a customer go through this with a pair of A3s in roughly the same price range. The A series from Magico is not that forward. If you have a warm source, you could end up too warm and the s...
New Perlisten S7T Towers I am one of their dealers. Read the review in Audioholics where they say this is the best speaker they have measured to date. Frequency response is flat and they are very natural sounding but with lots of detail. The design uses a Kilppel measur...
recommended power tube amplifier for vivid kaya 45 speakers I am listening to the Kaya 45s at the moment using Art Audio Opus 4s. The thing to note is that I am in a small space and sit 7' to to 8.5' from the speakers and the wall is right behind me so it takes very little power to hit reference levels. ...
recommended power tube amplifier for vivid kaya 45 speakers I don’t find the Jadis KT120 stuff anywhere near as rolled off as the older EL34 based gear. Definitely tighter sounding that it used to be and with better high frequency extension. Those KT120s can only be so rolled off. |
