Best speakers around $130k?
Ozzy62:   Not my job to explain it to you. Figure it out for yourself.
How long do you or should you keep your gear.
Rounded off to the decade: 1950s - speakers 1960s - crossovers 1970s - amplifiers 1980s - preamp, turntable, tonearm 2000s - cartridge
Best speakers around $130k?
Why spend $130K when $33K might do? Why spend $33K when $3.3K will do? Conspicuous consumption, bad for the planet. And. Odd price point. Something else afoot. I’ll decline.
How to tame a bright system?
@snarfie23   - the particular type of rockwool that I used has no formaldehyde. - unlike fiberglass, which has sharp edges in its fibers, rockwool is beaded. - it is completely covered with burlap. - I waited for about 2 months before moving in...
How to tame a bright system?
@snarfie23  I am guessing that covering the walls and ceiling - completely - with an acoustically deadening material is optimal? Yes or no?
How to tame a bright system?
@snarfie23 Thanks for that but frankly, all a little too anal for me. As long as it sounds great to my ears, which it nowblessedly does, with the added side benefit of watching my guest’s jaws drop and their eyes bug out when I play their favor...
How to tame a bright system?
@snarfie23 Snarfie23 : I am analog through and through. Dunno about a DSP being of any help
How to tame a bright system?
Snarfie23: my architect has designed recording studios. It was his idea to save spending the many $$$$s that recording studios spend on room treatments by simply not covering the walls and ceiling with sheetrock.
Do speaker wires have to be the same length for each speaker?
And, Mitsy can hear up to 45Khz.
How to tame a bright system?
As I went down the thread, I was going to ask why no one is bothering to mention the room, but Snarfie23 saved the day, and with empirical measurements no less. Measuring isn’t everything, of course. But I can offer you my personal, anecdotal exp...

Mitsy says: "Are you kidding? Of course not!":   https://www.theaudioatticvinylsundays.com/comments?lightbox=dataItem-j0xckyk1
Not Sure If This Is OK Here, But Here Goes
I am suspicious as a general rule. But in this scenario, as long as you are being paid securely up front, and provide no personal info, it's on him to get your speakers shipped securely for the final leg of the transit.
How do you know when a stereo sounds good?
"How do you determine that you enjoy listening to music through your stereo?" How do I know when I am enjoying anything? Let me start by checking my pulse to see if I'm alive. Geez, I am not a therapist.
Bands/artists you never got to see live in their heyday, but would've liked to.

Horn speakers are really bright?
I have a pair of Altec Lansing 604Cs. They were bright with the stock crossover. I replaced the crossover with Mastering Lab crossovers. They have two shelves and were specifically designed to correct this weakness. They did solve the problem.
