Suggestions for high efficiency speakers?
see link provided. This system philosophy and configuration - with tweaks and improvements along the way - has worked for me for 35 years. Context and ears matter. May it may not work for you. Be well. https://www.theaudioatticvinylsundays.co...
Great song to test bass
Just about anything by Charlie Haden.
Have you moved away from full range to standmount speakers + subs?
I've had two floor standing speakers since 1978.    I have not found a substitute for the idea that you need a commensurate amount of mass to move air.
Great song to test bass
"A Child Is Coming" - Blows Against the Empire - Paul Kantner/Grace Slick/"Jefferson Starship" (really, The Planet Earth Rock and Roll Orchestra, or PERRO) - at about 1:27, Jack Casady’s bass becomes the lead, then the solo instrument. "Laughing"...

Can You Hear Me Now
What’s the point, actually? The test likely has biases: since everyone hears differently, whose to say that you won’t get different results with different parameters?  Are they measuring psychological as well as physiological phenomena, etc. I wou...

Since I moved from a 1200 sq ft listening space in NYC to a 550 sq ft listening space in The Hudson River Valley, my speakers give me the greatest natural balance, detail and spaciousness when pointed straight out, not toed in, and when making the...

46 years ago, I bought the lease to my loft of 41 years from a friend. He was moving to Europe. He had a fine art reproduction of the Ghent Altarpiece that he had framed in gold leaf himself. He didn’t want to take it with him and said if I liked ...

Still happily using vintage gear?
Except for the 3 year old room, my gear is 35 years old or much older (speakers are from 1956, almost as old as me). I’m happy with it. I’d put it up against most new stuff these days. https://www.theaudioatticvinylsundays.com/about
