So what would you recommend for my next upgrade? There is no such thing as an investment in this crazy hobby.. If you need to upgrade, fatten your wallet...the good stuff is expensive. If you make minor upgrades to this and that, you will never be satisfied, and spend way more money...exactly wh...
vibrapods -- which component? Miketuason.....Those vibrapods make VPI's rubbery sounding. If you really want to improve the sound replace the mini feet with Bearpaws. VPI's need a solid platform, not a squishy one.
3 speaker cable options - what to choose? Why do you want to change your cables...what improvements are you looking for?? If there is a wart in your system, fix the wart rather than find a cable that will hide it. Unless you listen to the new cable in YOUR system you will never know what ...
Power cables for Conrad Johnson and Vandersteen Bluesnbike....have you tried new power cords on your Vandersteens (if they are powered)....did wonders for mine.
Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive? Porsche
New to headphone amps --- I'm wondering ..... There is little discussion needed...get a dedicated amp for your headphones
Denon DL-103 "one of the...." I don't know where all the "experts" get all their information. The Denon is ok but nothing more...the conical stylus is quick to deteriorate. Worth the money, but to talk of the Denon and the Ortofon Blue in the same breath is evidence of the lac...
TT Power Cord No difference at all on the turntable....but what I thought was very interesting was that the entire audio spectrum was improved with audiophile power cables on my Vandersteen 5A speakers, even though only the woofers are powered...ODD....
TT Power Cord OOPS Holly....I'm not with you on this one. In MY experience a proper power cord can be even more beneficial to the final sound than a switch to a better active component.
Restore Thorens TD 165 or buy a VPI Traveller? BRF is oh so right. The Traveler is a very nice table...with performance beyond its price. You must know that VPI is always there to help if any needs arise..their service is superb.
Removing Morch DP-6 tonearm wires from cartridge Holly..just another 2 cents.... Personally I don't like De-oxite... the very act of removing the pins will (have) cleaned them. The less you monkey around with those fragile wires the better. You don't need long nose pliers if you just push the cl...
Removing Morch DP-6 tonearm wires from cartridge My pleasure...that's what makes this site so valuable.
Used VPI Traveler v1 vs. New Rega RP3 Ddugan22...don't let Mustang bother you...he always proves himself to be a snarky sht
Removing Morch DP-6 tonearm wires from cartridge Oakiris....when installing your new cartridge, affix the wires on the cartridge before installing the cartridge on the arm.....much easier. Hold the cartridge, and push on the pins...a breeze...then screw the cartridge on the tonearm. If you have ...
Are Bang and Olufsen turntables any good? If they are light in the bass, I remember their "state of the art" speakers were heavy in the bass....good combination. |
