Bryston preamps
The primary question would be, what are you trying to improve upon in your system?  If you can elaborate on that along with the rest of your system I think you'll get much better and more helpful recommendations.
Bel Canto Dac 3
FWIW, I found the DAC 3.0VB to be a big step up in sound quality over the non-VB version -- I got to demo both in my system a while back.  While I'd be happy to have the VB in my system, with all the developments over the past few years I'd probab...
Integrated amp + DAC + room correction all-in-one for Nola Boxer 1 + REL R328 sub
I'm interested!  Congrats.  I'm sure it's gonna sound great.
System Rebuild
Agree with Nola KO given what you're looking for.  Upscale Audio selling off version 1 for $6900, which seems like a great deal.  I'd have Don Sachs build me one of his SP14 preamps with upgrades for around $3000, and add a non-upsampling DAC like...
Recommendations for HT processor with HT bypass
Yeah @caphill has it right. You have it backwards. Even if your stereo pre doesn’t have a HT bypass, just hooking up the front L/R outputs from your prepro to an unused line input on your stereo pre is all that’s required. Set the balance for mult...
I need cables for my 2 channel system
Ah, I get it now.  So, you want an "improvement" in your cables.  What exact aspects of sound reproduction are you looking to improve upon versus your current cables?  If you can't answer this specifically, I think you may be putting the cart befo...
I need cables for my 2 channel system
When it comes to interconnects, cables, and PCs, there's really very little reason to not just buy used and flip as necessary.  You'll save a ton over buying new, so I just don't see the value of something like the Cable Co. because used wires are...
Does anyone have any experience of hybrid valve and solid state power amps?
I had the Rogue Medusa in my system on demo and it was a really good piece.  Outstanding dynamics, imaging, and soundstaging.  The fact that you can tune it with the input tube to cater to your system and tastes is such a nice bonus.
Legacy Focus SE or Magico A3
+1 Joseph Audio.  Some of the best imaging speakers available and well worth seeking out to audition.  In addition to the Profiles you should also audition the Pulsars just for reference if nothing else.  ProAc and Vandersteen also image superbly ...
Legacy Focus SE or Magico A3
Yeah, running $10,000 speakers through the preamp section of a $1400 AVR, even a good one, will be a huge bottleneck to your sound.  If it were me, I'd split the $10k to get both a good stereo preamp (that you can continue to use in conjunction wi...
Legacy Focus SE or Magico A3
What are your current speakers, what are you looking to improve upon, and what sound reproduction characteristics are most important to you?
Pre and Amp Suggestions
Given what you're looking for I'd get the Allnic L3000 mkII tubed preamp and one of the PBN amps available here now (mini Olympia or EBSA1), take my ball and go home.  PBN amps are the clearest and cleanest sounding amps I've ever heard, and they ...
Amplification for Magico S1 (mk i)
I've heard Alon Wolf is fond of and recommends Hegel amplifiers.  There are some H20s available here now in your price range.  Best of luck.

Floor Speakers Needed after "Remodel"
I heard the Minuets (basically the monitor version of the Preludes) at a show demo with mid-level electronics, and they produced a jaw-dropping reproduction of an acoustic standup bass in a good-sized room. There’s a lot more to speaker design tha...
