Why don't Joseph Audio Pearls get more love from the audio press?
Yeah, but never the Pearls.  Strange.
Cables of the past - which still rock?
I'd recommend buying used Acoustic Zen Silver Reference interconnects (I or II, but II marginally better), and Satori or Hologram speaker cables, which can be had for very reasonable prices, and then let something else knock them off the shelf.  I...
Help me put together a $1000 (give or take) headphone rig -- new or used
From Bluesound site..."Our Gen 2 Players feature a dedicated headphone output driver. The driver is rated 0.0055% THD @1kHz, 35mW. It is designed for use with most headphones, with a minimum impedance of 14 ohms."Michael Lavorgna in his Audiostrea...
Help me put together a $1000 (give or take) headphone rig -- new or used
Yeah I'm thinking finding a good used Node 2 may be the best way to go.  Anyone know if it's got a decent headphone amp in it?
Help me put together a $1000 (give or take) headphone rig -- new or used
So, my bias right now I'd to minimize cost to get up and running now with the intention of upgrading components in the future.  My first shot at a very cost-effective system would be:Chromecast Audio > FX Audio DAC-X6 > Sundara phonesThis is...
Help me put together a $1000 (give or take) headphone rig -- new or used
Thanks guys.  I'm looking further into all the good recommendations here and look forward to more thoughts and recommendations.  Still wondering what would be the best and most cost-effective way to wirelessly stream to whatever DAC, etc. I end up...
Standmount speakers. I have $5000.
@usery - don't bother with kenjit too much.  His needle has skipped off the record a few too many times.

Here's a nice pair of Joseph Audio Pulsars in your price range that should be a significant upgrade over your already excellent Boxers.  Best of luck. https://tmraudio.com/speakers/bookshelf-monitors/joseph-audio-pulsar-bookshelf-speakers-gloss-bl...
Interconnect recomendations, ~$500 new or used, RCA...
Sounds like you may have found some good synergy with the Wywires, but if you're still up for another comparison here's a pair of AZ Silver Ref IIs you could probably sell for little/no loss if they don't work out. I'm not a fan of the AZ Matrix ...
AudioQuest Niagara 1000 and Bose Lifestyle?
The term "polishing a turd" seems particularly relevant here. Sell that crap for anything you can get for it and take it as penance for making that terrible decision. Look at this as a rebirth and console yourself with the realization that nothing...
My “Dream” system needs a preamp
I'd talk to Don Sachs about him building you one of his SP14 preamps.  At your price you could get one new with some nice upgrades I'd think.  Backert also makes nice preamps in that price range.  Best of luck.
All in One Integrated Amp or dac streamer plus amp - around 5k to 6k USD
Given the features and sound characteristics you're looking for and that your speakers probably appreciate some power, I think the Lyngdorf TDAI 3400 would be a very good choice.  And you get their RoomPerfect room correction as a nice bonus.  Fro...
DAC: Before I jump in...
That you'd like to "improve things" over the Node's internal DAC doesn't really give us much to go on here.  What sound characteristics are most important to you and what would you like to improve upon over what you're hearing now?
Hi-Fi amp recommendation
No info on what amp and sound characteristics are most important to you, what you're looking to improve upon, or your budget.  You won't get very helpful or meaningful recommendations without sharing this critical info.
Suggestions for Best Complete System -$1,000 or less???
This was a fun exercise.  I came up with Wharfdale Diamond 10.1 monitors with a Dayton 12" sub and a PS Audio Sprout100 fed by a Google Chromecast Audio (discontinued but available on EBay for about 40 bucks).  The whole shebang (all components br...
