The focus and air lie Audiophiles that stay in the hobby long term, go through many phases of appreciation....I know I have. Some things stay with you, because they are important to the enjoyment of music, other things get tossed aside because you find that they are not...
The Most You Have Paid For Shipping I shipped an old Counterpoint DAC to Japan last year (USPS)...I don't recall it being all that expensive? ($50-$60).Dave
Emotiva? I'd like to hear their new XPA-2 two channel amp, impressive specs and build. I could only find suggestions to buy their products, hardly any first hand user reviews. (except at the Emotiva forum).Dave

Quads vs Sound Labs vs Maggie 20.1 A triple stack of Quads would be "more" than outstanding!...check out Quads Unlimited. (I think their in Florida). That would probably put you in the price range of the Soundlabs or Apogees.Dave

Passive vs. active crossover? Most analog active subwoofer crossovers only allow low-pass adjustment of volume level, ect, (the active part)....the hi-pass output is fixed, except for maybe crossover point choice, and in some cases filter type.An active subwoofer, used with a ...
NHT x2 x-2 crossover x-over You don't really need an external crossover, you may, or may not need an hi-pass filter though....depending on your speakers.I would get the sub, and decide the hi-pass filter issue after a trial run. The hi-pass filter issue, should you decide yo... |
