Are the JL Fathom subs really that good.... I think you don't know how to setup a sub...or have a general understanding of sound reproduction, and small room acoustics. You said: "Don't hold back"Dave

Note for those who buy used equipment... I saw the list of the other 10 brands he sells posted at AA...pretty much stuff that I've never heard of, not big wonder to me now, as to why they won't service it.Dave
Note for those who buy used equipment... I've never had a problem?...Krell, Rogue, Sunfire, VMPS. None of these companies asked me when, or where I bought my component.I'd say their servise policy is out of line with "most" of the industry....regardless of what they say.Dave
Placement question My past experience tells me that #2 would sound best....still, try them both, if you can?Dave
New Onkyo or Older Yamaha? List it on "Craigslist"...it's free. Some people like to tinker with broken components.Dave
Can I hookup a Subwoofer to a ADCOM GFP-750 Preamp You will need to use a Y-splitter at the preamp outputs, if the ADCOM does not have a second set of preamp outs that you can use.Dave
New Onkyo or Older Yamaha? At it's price point, the Onkyo is in a class by it's self.Dave
Vincent monoblock vs Rogue 120/150 monos Although I use Rogue 120 Magnums with my Apogee panels with good results, someone at this forum mentioned, that they are not a good match with the Maggies. I'll guess that Maggies are harder to drive than my Apogees? You should be able to find that...
Speaker placement: Your favourite shortcut? I'm with Rushton and Albert...good adviceDave
5 Years or More? Yep.....Apogee speakers. Someone posted at another forum, that Batman uses Apogee speakers too (they saw them in the new Batman movie)..... and Bats have very good ears.
cayin A70T vs. Rogue Cronus vs. Prima Luna PL2 I'm sure tubes will work just fine...although I'd want twice the power output, of the three integrated units you mention.100-150 watts should do fine.Dave
Large listening room My room is 22'x 25'....I use fullrange dipoles. IMO, dipoles and large rooms, are about as good as it gets in sound reproduction.Horns would be great too!Dave |
