Anyone else miss audiophile nervosa?
I tried to find out about Miss Audiophile Nervosa. Who is she? The name sounds Italian and might be the ideal companion for an audiophile. Ooops ... I forgot I'm married already....scratch that one.
gallo 3.1 repair
Get them fixed by Gallo. FWIW - that driver is well known to be delicate - if you like to listen loud at realistic levels then it might be wise to fix it and get another speaker more suited to being driven hard...

Vinyl vs. top-notch digital
i have one question. if you had been there and heard it; checked and rechecked your gear; and then heard it again.....would you then believe it? Well I would naturally be alarmed and would want to investigate further. High end pro digital recordi...
Vinyl vs. top-notch digital
the fact is that even at 386khz with a 32 bit word length it is easy to hear the shortcommings of digital's attempt to reproduce music compared to vinyl.just listen. Yeah but that is all because of the tourmaline hair dryer tweak, which gives Vin...

Harbeth SHL5 compared to Merlin VSM ?
If you want purity in midrange and tight bass then add ATC to your audition list. Your choices above seem good - Harbeth's are warm and the bass response leans to the loose side of the spectrum but it may make many of your recordings pleasant soun...
Most improved players?
John Taylor - sounds pretty ham fisted on some early stuff but the guy was self taught - he got better and put funk back into pop for a while nice grooves with ghost notes.
not impresed with my system
Change your speakers.
Buying Bookshelves, I love B&W but....
my experience is that the mids are a bit compressed, less open and detailed. That is pretty standard for most speakers. It is called the BBC dip. Technically the speakers are scooped in the midrange in their power response (combined on axis and of...
Vinyl vs. top-notch digital
From what I've read, it appears there is a consensus in our community that a high-quality analog rig playing a good pressing will beat a top notch digital system playing a well-recorded and mastered CD. That Vinyl is better than Digital is indeed...
Wise audio aphorisms
"This land is your land and this land is my land, sure, but the world is run by those that never listen to music anyway". - Bob Dylan
