Best Sounding Bruckner Recordings
Try listening to Jesus Lopez-Cobos with the Cincinnati SO on Telarc. This is one BIG version. You might just like it. :-) FWIW I'm currently listening to Guilini's version as I type. Beautiful...
What is the most FUN pair of speakers you've ever had and why?
Early in my experience I had some Altec 19s. Big boxes - big sound. Stupidly I sold them and up graded to small boxes. If I had a room for a 2nd system big enough I'd get another pair.
Trust Schiit Loki
In my experience there has always been some insertion loss when using devices such as the Loki. Must be I think. But properly used the 'cure' is much better than the sickness. Optimally I think a device like the Loki belongs in a tape loop. I have...

FWIW, the Loki's wall wart is a 16v unit as opposed to the more normal 12v, if that makes any difference to you.

twoleftears, the recording I was referring to was a DG #419627. The orchestra referred to was the Wiener Philharmoniker, but that's really the same orchestra as the Vienna  Phil.

+1 on Guiliani's Bruckner 7. My favorite. I'm fond of his 9th as well. Try to hear it.++1 on older recommendation of Rana’s performance of Bach’s Goldbergs.
Another Analog v. Digital Thread? Not Really
FWIW, lets face it, while analog systems can sound superb, to get that sound you not only need quality recordings but the experience to properly set up and maintain your turntable. If you don’t do this properly your sound will just be ’different’ ...
The Music Room - Boulder Colorado
FWIW, I noticed a few weeks ago they were advertising to fill 'service tech' job(s). This shortage might well explain their delays in evaluating your trade in.

I enjoy Michael Tilson Thomas's version with the LA Phil. Reminds me more of the sound of music as it was played in the 20's. That aside, I really enjoy Litton's with the Bergen Phil. Recording quality is excellent and the sound is more forward th...
Are you Beethoven or Mozart?
Beethoven by some margin for me. Especially his piano sonatas and piano trios. On occasions his symphonies. I lean to the odd numbered ones, especially 5 and 7. Almarg, pain and suffering in Beethoven? I must have missed it, but then I've been con...
PrimaLuna Dialogue Preamp = emotionless?
As you might suspect (or not) the choice of tubes in any amp or pre-amp can easily affect the sound you get. Just 'cause some one else liked, and some one else recommended, any particular tube really means nothing other than that they like them (i...
The order of getting more/better bass
Placing your chair in a bass node helps a lot if you just want 'more' bass. :-)
Unsolvable Woofer Pumping (Phono only)
Might be due to cartridge/tone arm mismatch. Some damping of the tone arm might help also. Something to research I think. I had a similar problem with a tone arm with a well for oil to damp tone arm vertical movement which went dry. There used to ...

Good choice I think. I too use one in my dedicated headphone system and the sound it produces (the headphone system) is outstanding with just a minor twist of a knob. I also use one with an inexpensive DAC and good quality deck and it too is impro...

recluse, One of the best versions IMHO. This and his recording of Symphonic Dances have been my favorites since they first came out (on Vinyl). Roxy, do you have the companion recording of some of his solo piano music, titled "Banjo". I think Euge...
