You know it's a great day when...
great find...never had such luck..
Tool Fear Inoculum impressions
They are a very talented, and great, band. BUT, IMO, Undertow, is still their best work. No need to comment...ymmv.....Enjoy ! MrD.
JADIS DEFY7, can not get it to sing
mozartfan, when I owned it ( for about a year's time ) it produced quite more heat, than my 100 wpc Krell KSA 100. And, because of my, admittedly, high volume levels, microphonics was a big problem ( other tube products, as well, not just the Defy...
ATMA SPHERE SCHEMATIC for a UV-1 M/M.......
Will, based on other posts of his, shows this common behavior. I feel justified in my comment, as, I have nothing personal against him. But, high end audio, is an adult hobby, and should be handled as such. I also want to point out, that Will is n...
JADIS DEFY7, can not get it to sing
The OP, in his initial post, mentions the speakers he is using. All that is needed is to read.....imo
ATMA SPHERE SCHEMATIC for a UV-1 M/M.......
I feel autospec offers a reasonable product, with his Dynaco 70 rebuilds, although, I would not buy one myself. As someone mentioned above, autospec is a big crybaby, as, if he does not get what he wants, he goes public with his bantering, and tri...
JADIS DEFY7, can not get it to sing
I had a Defy 7. One of the better tube amps I owned, or borrowed. Extremely high input impedance ( around 500 K ). Sounded great with matching Jadis preamp. There are straps under the chassis to get a good match between it and the speakers it is d...
McIntosh MC2152 power amp technical question
As stated above, if you swapped cables and the problem moved from the right to left, it is not the amps input, but a cable or the preamp / source...
Bose 301 modifications
Back in the day, we " stacked " pairs of Advents, ARs, KLH, JBLs, Klipsch Heresy, whatever we had 2 pairs of. Do the same with the 301s,and she would likely be happy. They are not worth the time, nor money, to rebuild them, imo. Also, you can add ...
McIntosh MC2152 power amp technical question
No responses. If I were you, I would contact Mcintosh.
Speaker Volume
I have tried a few phone apps to use, but heavily rely on my Radio Shack meter. A few good meters are available, starting at $20, going up to double, that I feel are superior to using the phone apps. My feeling is that the phones ( the built in mi...
New Tortuga passive/active tube pre looks like a winner
This Tortuga might be perfect for you, as you seem to like tubes, but this is not a 100 % passive pre, imo. The attachment above, to the piece, even indicates, in the 1st paragraph of the description, it is an active tube preamp.
Speaker Volume
The Persona B is a high quality bookshelf, stand mounted ( preferable ) speaker that has a bass limit to 60hz, + or - 2db. Not a cranking type speaker, ime. Your Nad is 140 watt Nad power, so this should not the problem. I would run the speakers, ...
Where do I start!?!
To the OP. With the gear your father ( not father in law ), has graciously and lovingly given you, you should feel special, and lucky. With that, you need to do your own do diligence, and research the amps and speakers, to determine what Mcintosh ...
Can someone figure out the gain of this amp?
Glad to hear it. The SYS, along with the additional set of cables, would obviously be detrimental to the sound, other than for the purpose you initially intended. You should have, an almost new system, with it opening up. Enjoy ! MrD.
