klipsch cornwall iv upgraded crossovers I find non damped horns unlistenable, particularly the metal / aluminum/ plastic type. Most wooden horns I have heard, do not have these issues. Been damping for 55 years, and there is " a sound " to the ringing / vibration to most horns. My cli...

Passive preamps - differences between technologies OP, the 300K is the input impedance. The input sensitivity of the amp is 2V for rated output, and the V gain is 24db, a little less than the norm of 26-28 db. Just a friendly fyi. My best, and ENJOY ! MrD.
Is my amp good enough? One or two folks here mentioned the room acoustics and listener / speaker positioning. Do you have that nailed down ? Using your current speakers, get that dialed in, and go from there. IME, this should come 1st, if you already have a decent syste...
Passive preamps - differences between technologies The Luminous Audio has the shortest signal path of them all. Just saying. Enjoy, MrD.
Anyone has a reference system where amplification is SS ? Well, except for inna, where he/she does specify a right and wrong, and us ss folks have it all wrong. So laughable...
Reviews on JungSon amp/preamp combo: JA-1/JA-99C Addendum : imo, as far as the preamp is concerned, the amp is the star of the show.
Reviews on JungSon amp/preamp combo: JA-1/JA-99C One of my many class A amplifiers, is this JA 99C, the newest variation of this beast. I have to say, this amp is the real deal. I believe it to be true 80 wpc, running class A, no different than the Threshold T200 I had in my stables at one time ...
The Hidden Gem at Capital Audio Fest (CAF) 2023! What a throw back in time. I was the " demo guy " at the ’96 Stereophile show at the Waldorf, for Jadis. My good friend and his partner were the US reps ( NorthStar Leading The Way ) for Jadis at that time. Personally, I had a blast....but several...
Anyone has a reference system where amplification is SS ? @inna The more of your posts I read, the more ignorant you seem to be. IME, tubes and SS each have their " characteristics ", very specific to each listener. For what I want to hear, Class A, ss, does it for me. Tubes, no longer, and, for a very l...
Amp first approach to build a system. Anyone did it ? @inna I abandoned tubes many years ago. ymmv. The CHARACTERISTICS I FIND IMPORTANT, only great, class A ss, works for me. To each his own. Speakers 1st, room 2nd, and everything else comes next. That is how I roll, and how I have been doing it for...
Getting into the music Audiophilia tends to have us listen to the " sound " of our systems. This tends to be more popular than not. IME, systems are designed to allow you to hear the music. The musicianship.....the composition....is it a studio recording, or a live reco...
Benchmark or McIntosh.... To the op, I am very familiar with the NHT monitors ( with the B6 bass modules ). If you are looking to move some air ( more oomph ) out of the monitors, you need to upgrade them. I will not comment on the room, as you say, the photo is outdated. ...
A continuation of the best musician thread I remember that Beato video from 4 years ago. All great guitarists. Thanks, and enjoy ! MrD. |
