Cartridge azimuth adjustment using a voltmeter and a test lp
I agree on the importance of correct azimuth.  Critical azimuth setting IMO is more important than critical horizontal tracking setting which occupies so much of our posts and energies, it seems.Just a few comments.  I begin with trying to set the...
Wayne's Audio Problems?
@audiofool1982First of all, I have no connection to Wayne's Audio (likely a one-person operation) and have nothing to say about his record clamps nor about his business ethics.  I am a user of a 3rd party (TTWeights--no longer active) peripheral w...
Wally Malewicz's legacy lives on...Wallytractor
@cleeds "That is completely mistaken. One of the biggest advantages of Wally’s gauge is that it aligns the cantilever, while the typical protractor only aligns the cartridge body. Big difference!"I didn’t say anything about a "typical protractor."...
Wally Malewicz's legacy lives on...Wallytractor
And for ONLY $350 it will provide EXACTLY the same results as the $20 turntablebasics.com protractor when both are used correctly.  I can hardly wait to order one!
What should I do?
If @louisl doesn't respond with the info requested this is a complete waste of time.
Rockford Fosgate Signature Phono preamp
The Fosgate does not have left and right channel tubes. Each of the 6 audio tubes does both channels. That’s what makes tube-rolling on the Fosgate so easy. (Requires just balanced, not matched, tubes) So if it’s a tube problem, you’ll have to rep...
Recommendations for a tonearm upgrade on a VPI Classic 4 turntable
You have a very good arm; I have the same and I'd be interested to know what it is that you do not like.  But can't argue with you if you have the money to spend.  IIWY though I might look at the Kuzma, a design that has proven itself over the yea...
Advice on setting VTA
Analogmagik will take your money at a very rapid clip.  Don't forget their $160 Torque Driver Kit.  Wouldn't want to tighten down my cartridge screws with anything less. :)
Turntable platforms
If you don't mind saving some money and are handy, consider an old-fashioned sand-box.  They work!
Advice on setting VTA
Given all the complicated post here, I thought I would chime in with a post I've used before. Here is my $.02 keeping in mind that success will depend on stylus shape and the quality of associated components.  And some experience listening.Keep ...
long lasting cart
Use Stylast.
VPI Classic setup tools
Save your money and either use the alignment tool that came with your TT or try an inexpensive one at turntablebasics.com.  There are also free alignment tools that you can print out on-line.You may eventually find as many of us have and as Peter ...
what's the real story on china-hifi-audio? legit online shop or not?
Well, they do sell 110V components, e.g., https://www.china-hifi-audio.com/en/jungson-audio-amplifier-cd-player-c-27/jungson-ja-99c-class-a-power-amp-full-balanced-deluxe-edition-20th-anniversary-p-2104You might want to see the review at https://w...
Cartridge recommendation for classical listening
The idea that you have to match the brand of cartridge to the brand of arm is ridiculous.  It is the kind of nonsense hype broadcast by Rega which sells a lot of arms and would like to sell a lot of cartridges, some of which are simply re-badged a...
Cartridge recommendation for classical listening
I've been a classical music listener for many years.  I use an AT MC cartridge on a VPI TT into a 3 stage all tube phono pre.  Here is my $.02 in no particular order.I wouldn't buy a moving magnate cartridge without a replaceable stylus.  There ar...
