Spindle-To-Pivot Distance
Clearthinker, I did not say that the 10mm error in P2S contemplated by the OP would not be audible. At best, I said that if he fiddled with his head shell offset and the slots on the mounting surface, so as to move the cartridge forward, he might ...

Dover, you twisted my words. Please re-read carefully what I wrote. “Quite the same” does not mean indistinguishable. No cartridge is perfect. And I might be deaf, but you have other disabilities associated with your character that seem to be equa...
If I could afford, I’d purchase 100% Oswald Mills Audio gear
Chakster, Either you do not understand English as well as you write in English (which is very well) or you just don't want to "hear" anyone else's opinion.  I said first of all that I know nothing about OMA loudspeakers.  However, in this case, it...

I’d say that the Krebs TT represents a lot of “plain, honest, down to earth good engineering “ and very little bling. That’s why some others find it ugly. The problem is cost.
What $ percentage goes into the turntable, the arm, preamp, and cartridge?

2 Wonderful Stereo LP's RESCUED by: MONO MODE and BALANCE
I am sure most people know this but a lot of those early stereo LPs with what Russ calls a hard pan are derived from mono tapings. I don’t know exactly how they did it, but the result is often an empty space between the two channels. Also, I suppo...

A few years ago, they were selling the Saskia turntable, made of slate and idler-driven.  The Saskia was conceived of and built by Win Tinnon of North Carolina, based on his love for the Lenco; no part of it was made by OMA.  Win built every one o...

I don’t know anything at all about their speakers, but most of the other products they sell are not “made“ by OMA. They are made (designed and built) by other entrepreneurs and sold through OMA. Usually OMA adds some exterior design elements to id...
MY SONIC LAB Cartridges
I find that the three or four of my 20 or so cartridges that I like the best tend to sound quite the same to me if I were to close my eyes. And I like to think that this is because I am drawn to their neutrality more than anything else. In other w...
$10K budget? Look no further, EMT 948 NIB
Agree with Mike L. I would ditch the EMT tonearm and the built in phono stage. Then it would be interesting to compare it to a Mk3 or 10R in similar livery.

JPerry, Eyes closed, could you distinguish among those 4 cartridges?
Spindle-To-Pivot Distance
Dear Raul, I don't understand what you want me to say.  I can only say (again) that my experience with underhung tonearms using zero headshell offset angle suggests that precise adherence to any algorithm that posits minimizing tracking angle erro...

This is Richard Krebs’ turntable wearing a new dress. The new dress is made of cast iron. Powerful motors require powerful magnets. I am curious what happens to the magnetic field in this situation. I hope Richard and Frank Schroeder are getting a...
Spindle-To-Pivot Distance
The thing is that an under hung tonearm will yield massive amounts of tracking angle error when the stylus is not located at its single null point on the surface of the LP. Way more tracking angle error than is developed in a properly aligned over...

I always wonder what sort of (mono) systems were available to Baerwald and Lofgren in the late 1930 or early 1940s, when they published their analyses, and how their work applies to modern stereo gear. Yes, geometry is still geometry, I know.TomWh...
