Beatles vs. Stones
@bigtwin - Yes, that Rolling Stones film was by Jean-Luc Goddard, if I recall correctly?
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
With all those entries, it's a shame there's no measurement of distortion, too, or the measurements can be misleading as far as the subjective experience.
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
Some of the ones that had my ears ringing for days were in no particular order,  Grand Funk The Cars (Panorama tour - everything cranked to 11!) Ministry The Killers (everything super-loud and super-distorted) The Verve (everything super-loud...
Better story teller than Edmund Fitzgerald?
@larryi - 'And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda' was by the Skids, no?
Gary Rossington RIP
First saw Lynyrd Skynyrd at their first really big show, opening for the Who on the Quadrophenia tour on the first night of the tour in San Francisco. Always really enjoyed L.S. RIP Gary...
Why do we stop listening to new music as we get older?
@frankmc195 - I think you are probably right; I'm 71, and my tastes are VERY different from most people I know in my age group, who like those jazz/nice music things that I don't like or that put me to sleep. I got about another 20 years or so be...
Beatles vs. Stones
I think Sgt Pepper was great when it came out, and it still is; love every song on there. Can't say the same for every Beatles album.
Novice needs opinions for new system

Why do we stop listening to new music as we get older?
@tatyana69 - well, I guess if some chap analyzed it, that settles it. End of story.
Beatles vs. Stones
Guess that's why I listen to the Stones and not jazz....
My opinion;
Terribly hard to listen to. I guess that's why it's been the predominant musical form for a few decades, enjoyed by millions of people throughout the world. I guess maybe you meant terribly hard for you to listen to. Not my favorite genre, but I e...
Beatles vs. Stones
@edcyn - I'd guess that it was more a friendly tit-for-tat. There were some wonderful songs on there, though - 'Citadel', '2000 Man', '2000 Light Years From Home', 'She's A Rainbow', 'Sing This All Together', even Bill Wyman's 'In Another Land'....
Why do we stop listening to new music as we get older?
Many stop listening to more contemporary music because they are just not interested in exploring past what they already know and like. Nothing wrong with that. In my own case, I like to hear contemporary music and I am behind by many years on way...
Beatles vs. Stones
@bigtwin - That was then (I don’t think I’d even heard of anyplace in England besides London and Liverpool), this is now - I’ve since become a Britophile over the past 4 or 5 decades with mates scattered about through England and Scotland, and qui...
