Bands that had a "masterpiece", w/ common theme
I heard an interview with Ian Anderson (Tull) where people thought "Agualung" was a concept album."You want a concept album?", he says."I'll give you a concept album!"And out came "Thick as a Brick".
What does Uhqr mean concerning records?
They only made a few of them I believe. I own Supertramps "Crime of the Century" & it is a tremendous recording. Seems to differ from the other opinions above.-John

Thanks for posting the question. I have been watching these threads and bookmarking for my own info. Maybe we can get the down & dirty quick version, if there is such a thing. Looks like it will give us a new reason to procure more audio equip...
Shelter 501 MkII or Grado Sonata?
I had originally purchased a Grado Platinum, high output version which Grado lists on their website on the same product line. I dont know if yours is the high or low output as Grados descriptions are vague at best. I ended up with the Shelter and ...
Technics SL-1200MK2 or MK5
For some listeners/musicians the pitch device helps out quite a bit if you like to learn riffs. Otherwise it is a giant PIA to change the tuning of your instrument for each album or song. So many songs are recorded a smidgeon off pitch for one rea...

Thanks to all. Shouldn't be to tough of a sell.-John
B/Ray players, do they all boot up slow?
Thats what I was afraid of. Ya see, I was hoping for "Buy an Oppo. It'll boot up faster than greased lightening". Then I could show the Mrs, this thread and I'd be on my way to some new equipment. There is still time....-John
Krell KSA 300S or FPB 300?
I owned the KSA200S & now own a FPB300cx. I feel the opposite of the above opinions, but not by much. The FPB300 is definatly built better and being newer is the one I would recommend. I also believe the FPB version is a little bit "darker" so...
