Favorite album art? My favorite list is long. But Ralph Steadman did some artwork on a couple Ambrosia albums I've always admired. And of course the many listed above. I've often thought Brain Salad by Geiger would be awesome for helmet graphics. Happy 4th to all, John
Best recorded rock song ? No best in my book, but on the top rung with others, "Great Gig In The Sky", by Floyd. 30 years and it still sends chills down my spine and puts a grin on my face.-John
Speaker cables of cooper, or silver :Pros/Cons In the theme of the original poster: If silver accentuates the highs, does copper strengthen the low notes? If one is looking for a cable material for bass enhancement what whould that be?-John
Add Sub Woofer I had a KRC2 prior to my KCT. I would hook the amp VIA XLR (balanced) and use the RCA's to the sub if it has that type of connectors. Good luck, John
LP's and music at the recent NY Show I was not there but I would like to hear what vinyl you thought is worth owning. Also your Infinity speakers are awesome. I have Ren 90's so I can only imagine what the RS's are like.-John
Mirror for cartridge set up? My brother has the MintLP version and we checked my setup after using the Turntable basics version just cause we could. No adjustment was necessary. Plus it was $110.00 in lieu of $20 for the TB version. Hey, it worked for me.good luck,JD
Mirror for cartridge set up? Turntable Basics version works great. As a bonus I can slip it behind my pre-amp so I can find & see the recepticles when pluging in cables. -JD
How long daes it take your gear to warm up? As long as we're on the subject, does anyone warm their equipment up slow like a cold car engine? Or just crank the piss outa' it until you smell the dust frying? I let it warm up with an album/cd or 2 first. Im always paranoid of frying anything...
Speaker grill material, any real difference? Granted anything will affect the sound, I like the way they sound with the grills on. Actually the manual states to leave them on as well. I think since these speakers have both planer type and cone type drivers the cover helpes blend the sound pr...
Speaker grill material, any real difference? After Shakti Stones and breaking in power cables I figured this would fit right in.I'am ready for the flak now.-JD
Stereo sub out to mono, is it safe? I also do not agree to the "use one side" theory. I have quite a few recordings where the bass may be on one side or the other or even switching from right to left etc. This is on a 2 channel system of course. When I asked Krell if I could do it V...
Best cable elevators for pc and speaker cables? I went on one of the auction sites and bought some old antique insulators from telephone poles. They are ceramic or glass and kind of cool. Took me a while to find a set of all the same as well as having a groove type top. I believe they call them...
Sunfire subs Boy your timing couldnt be better. I have been looking at a TSEQ12 signature and am curious as to what others have to say as well.
Any Discwasher D4 users out there? Yes it was not good at all. BUT I played more Lp's in that time frame than I had for a long time. Great memories came back. Also, the fluid I have is indeed stamped made in China. Never noticed. Now I guess I'll have to play apothecary and brew my ...
Any Discwasher D4 users out there? Gotcha on the Chinese. I didn't realize the fluid was imported. Now I'll have to look when I get home. I believe there were some posts about home brew versions using de-ionized water and alcohol a while back. I havn't searched the archives but but... |
