How make my Ayre system "warmer"?
Hi you have good electronics, sorry, I just have never heard your speakers, maybe others can comment.Assuming you have the speakers positioned correctly, maybe consider some room treatments, depends if you have a lively room or not.Honestly, might...

Antiskating .... The last analog secret
I've always used AS until today. I have set it the same as the tracking force, used the visual stlyus drop in the groove method, and just turned it higher and lower and heard some (small) changes.Today after reading this, I just turned it off. I h...
Cardas Din plug compatible with Graham Phantom II?
I might add here is I think that Graham and SME flip the din pin configuration 180 degrees. So you may have to "spin by 180" the din plug the orientate it correctly...
Wilson Audio MAXX series III
Technically I can't really answer. But from experience, the Maxx 3 plays louder at the same volume setting on my preamp than the Maxx 2's. My dealer commented that the better time alignment allows more of the music to arrive at the precise moment,...
Nagra BPS - battery powered phono stage
Hi, I'd love to see some more info. I have been wondering if Nagra will offer a battery option for their VPS and PLL phono and line stages(in addition to the AC power supply).
Nagra VPS
Anyone tried the Nagra VFS with your VPS? I spent the extra $300 or so to get the Nagra spikes, those helped quite a bit over stock feet. I also dramatically like the Nagra Spikes vs Finite Elemente Cerapucs (which are killer under all my other eq...
Wilson Audio MAXX series III
The Maxx 3's are so new, might be hard to get this combo you're asking about.I plan to try my Maxx 3's with a single BAT VK75SE vs my current 150SE's over the Christmas/New years break. If it works out, I'll sell one amp and use the other to fund ...
SME 30 / 12 pre-release details.
I bet this is a killer table. (not sure I care for the gold plating, I like the way they look now!) I love my SME 20/2 with IV.Vi arm. I am hoping to get a Graham or Triplanar arm for it one day soon. The biggest issue with SME is the list prices h...
preamp with two adjustable outputs??
Hi, not on the BAT, it's just a second output...
SME table owners - ever have a motor go out?
Thanks Raul, he also said never say never :)I think I got to the final issue just now. The O-ring that holds the motor had "lost it's tension" over the years. So when the tt starts up, motor moves b/c the worn o-ring wouldn't hold just right it on...
preamp with two adjustable outputs??
My BAT VK51SE has two outputs....
SME table owners - ever have a motor go out?
Hi, I sent a email to SME-nothing just yet. Then I called Sumiko. Norbert was EXTREMELY helpful. He thought it might be a belt slipping, so clean the belt (maybe some oil got on the belt), pulley, and platter rim (where belt rides). Also thought i...
Record Clamps tightness
Hi, I have a SME 20/2. I use a washer over the spindle (that SME provided) kinda slightly ever so dishes the record down when screwing down the clamp. If I screw it to tight, the record warps up, just right the record touches the platter surface.....
Nagra VPS
Hi Raul, sorry I missed your last trip through central tx. I talked to some of my friends up in Dallas, they were impressed with your phono/pre "much better than I was expecting" That says a lot considering the state of art equipment they have...s...
