Flat frequency response Duke is 100% correct. Downward sloping in room which could still be flat/pretty flat at the speaker is perfect.
Apple Music Audio Quality Eversolo DMP-A6 I have done a single blind A/B with an apple ipad through a camera adaptor with a Mac min and a highend CD player in my own system. I failed, don’t chase the rabbit. It all comes down to how the DAC handles the codec. The iPad supports full band w...
Flat frequency response I pretty much agree that speakers should be flat but the music should not be flat. The problem is most music is produced badly. Floyd Toole’s book is documented research on this subject and worth a read (linked below). The short version is peo...
Klipsch Heresy IV vs. The World! Interesting on the ratings. Lots of snake oil out there.
Klipsch Heresy IV vs. The World! Yes just have to try them and see. Buy used, open boxes 40% off are not too hard to find either. Music direct has open boxes that are returnable but there might be a hefty restocking fee so read the details (I have bought from them without issue)....
JBL 4367 = Sleep Denervation Jheppe815, thanks for the input. I will buy something this year (still saving for now). I agree that the JBL SUB18 or equivalent would probably be the best option and I may go that rout. They are pretty huge but I have the room (anything goes ...
Klipsch Heresy IV vs. The World! The JBL 4329 on their stands are about the same size. They don’t look as good nor I have I heard them but hearing the entire Klipsch line and owning the JBL 4367, there is not a doubt in my mind the 4329 is much better. A few pairs use on audio ma...
What Horn loaded speaker/ speaker system for $10k'ish and under Jheppe815, Those drivers would be perfect. It is what JBL uses in their SUB18 that was designed to go with the M2. https://jblpro.com/en-US/products/sub18
Midrange Increasingly Harsh Play the same CD on headphones and see if it is the recordings.
Setup with three speakers, smart tv, and wireless amp/receiver Audioholics is a good source to read about listening to multi channel music. I am sure you can find It on YouTube or their website. It is not personally for me but some of their writers seem to like it.
Mcintosh amp suggestion A 2 channel preamp will do a lot more for music than an amp will. Amps don’t sound that different (they do sound different) but that avr is sucking the life out of your music. You can use an integrated amp with a Home Theater pass through. The hig...
Loudspeakers with horn or ceramic tweeter? I have never heard a ceramic tweeter but have owned speakers with beryllium and switched over to horns and I don’t see my self going back to box speakers anytime soon. the horns add so much dynamics and just sound more real because of it.
Are your listening levels healthy? Doing damage? No mine are not healthy. My quiet session is 85db. More often to not I am 90+ with peaks over 100db. The JBL 4367s have virtually no limit due to compression… for better or worse.
What Horn loaded speaker/ speaker system for $10k'ish and under Jheppe815, A pair of JL E112 (pictures under my profile) and highpassing through the internal crossovers (a true highpass). They sound fine and blend well but I feel the 4367 is more textured than the JLs. The is issue in using the internal highp...
