Considering Rogue Audio or P.S. Audio
I constantly had hum in my speakers no matter what I did with my CM2. A shame because I loved the Rogue sound but it kept me from moving up the Rogue Audio chain. Same experience here. I also had hum with the Stereo 100 amp. Ground hum seems to b...

Look into the GEM Dandy Polytable Super12. Acoustic Solid is another brand that might fit the bill.
New house, new amp, and speaker options (Harbeth, Maggies, GMA or...?)
I own and love speakers that conform to the BBC design philosophy (Harbeth, Spendor, Stirling) and recently bought a pair of Magnepan .7s. With a decently powerful amp (like your Hegel), these Maggies offer the best value of any speaker I've encou...
Best integrated tube amplifier, under $3,000.00. No phono needed. Could be used, too.d
My speakers are rated at 86, and is for a small bedroom system, maybe 12x14 feet is size, and has appropriate room treatments. I would imagine anything 25 watts or above would be sufficient.I would go with something of at least 50 watt/Ch for hea...
PrimaLuna Dialogue Preamp = emotionless?
Have you swapped the PL out for Directstream DAC recently? This is what I would do before spending any money. You might find as I did that adding a tube preamp between DAC and amp was a matter of tradeoffs.
Does Stacking Wireless Speakers Sound Feasible?
I think Tekton has dispelled the Comb Filtering myth...What Tekton does in effect, is combine the output of the outer tweeters to function as one large mid-range transducer. The outer tweeters do not play the upper freqs, only the center one does....
Does Stacking Wireless Speakers Sound Feasible?
What you'd end up with is a bunch of comb-filtering and wonky frequency response with huge peaks and valleys. Not because of any wireless signal issues, because of the proximity of the baffles and tweeters. This would be true for nearly any speake...
Suggestions for bookshelf speakers that have great dynamics, budget of $500 used.
You might be able to find a dealer willing to discount some B&W 607s. An industry typical 15% discount would bring their price to $595. Saving just a bit longer to step up to these from the typical ~$400 offerings would be a good move IMO. The...

To Float or not to Float...
If your equipment has a ground-lift switch then it should be safe to use if you desire. Whether the connected components have the earth ground prong or not doesn't matter as long as they're properly designed. Simple as that. Unless you plan on ope...
Please help me decide...
I know Monoprice at one time sold an amp in which the tubes were nowhere in the signal path. They were just for looks. Might do some research and make sure this isn't the case with your model before shelling out coin for new tubes. Denon and Yamah...
Ohm Walsh Talls and amplification
The Rogue Pharaoh is severely lacking in grunt. I've owned both the Sphinx and the Pharaoh and neither are high-current amps in practice. One owner on the Steve Hoffman Forum had a lot of difficulty driving his Maggie 1.7s with it. He switched to ...
Ohm Walsh Talls and amplification
Class D amps are generally not good current sources. They tend to have minimal headroom and weak power supplies. This is why a 200 watt/ch AB MOSFET amp will usually sound more powerful than a 400watt/ch class D amp. Some will contend otherwise bu...
Mattresses, not stereos is where the money is
Mattress stores are being put to bed as fast as they rise where I live.
