Best speakers to play Mahler and Bruckner Wjones, for Mahler 1 (that I love) you could give Walter/Columbia (rather than the NYSO) a listen. I find the 2nd part very simplistically moving...Cheers!
Absolute Power Cord "Smooth", as D-K notes, is also the result on my second CD trans+DAC. I don't seem to be suffering from loss of dynamics, either. For $50, they're a very reasonable allrounder.
CAT/Hovland internal phono vs external? I only know the CAT. I found the line excellent, the phono above average by comparison. The latest audition was at home with a S. Yorke T4/Pluto 6/Clearaudio Discovery, S-Line RG7 amp, Gen V speakers. So, take this with a grain of salt...Don't kno...
Arthur Salvatore WoW comments?? Wazzat about tracks??? Only ONE??? (I'll track this one down with my shrink and report back) :)
Best speakers to play Mahler and Bruckner Raul, for Mahler's 3rd I suggest Adler. Yu11375, may I recommend Barbirolli for Mahler 4-5-6-7, and Horenstein for 8. I love Klemperer on the 2nd and Walter on 1st.I think A-Physics are a good idea, capable of reproducing the intensity and emotion...
Is Genesis Out of Business? I, too, haven't received ANY response from them to ANY of my mails, etc... I'm starting to look for info /upgrading /servicing alternatives (the local dealer hasn't been too hot on support -- to say the least). I assume that simple servicing may f...
The best speaker you ever heard? Detlof, I'd add "...driven by Jadis 80" to your recent post!
Arthur Salvatore WoW comments?? Good advice there, Detlof. Thanks! I'll settle for viagra as a pick me up. Need to double my amp current.BTW, I, too, am a depraved European; what's worse, I now live in Europe... (Don't you just love depravity?)Cheers!
Speaker upgrade - please advise. Errr, transd*u*cer. Sorry.
Jazz Review This double LP takes us through a jam meeting recording session featuring, other than the title song, Straight, No Chaser (2 takes), I Mean You (3 takes), and other musical games. The simplicity of the music coincides with its greatness. At times,...
Classical Music Review Szell / 10/8It's not only Curzon's piano musicality (superior indeed) that makes me single out this performance. Rather, Szell's conducting in the maestoso (hair-raisingingly intense) makes this a "triple" concerto where the star players are Curzo...
Most achingly-beautiful music Sibelius, what about your own concerto for violin? C. Ferras/Karajan, for example? Also, if M. Solemnis would you accept Brahms Deutsche Requiem? (Klemperer, maybe)Cheers!
Arthur Salvatore WoW comments?? Cool, J, thanks. Starting to look forward to my next go. Rent's still paid for, right? May be the only way to get somethng out of my annual tax killing (*my* killing -- not the gov't).Keep on trucking (with or w/out the DL -- don't let bureaucracy...
Positioning and Listening distance Grungle, we must have posted ¬simultaneously. My speakers are 7ft apart, with slight toe-in, against manufacturer's instructions (closer & no toe-in).
Help with imaging Guys, the dude says he's tried other speakers -- w/out the problem. Logically then, it shouldn't be room related...Acssavings, have you tried any of this out? I'd be intereseted in results.Cheers! |
