Another blues great passes... "Sad, sad day..." to paraphrase M.Water. At home we always referred to J-L as "granddad" ("let's spin some granddad and boogie...").

Confused By A Transport Upgrade Good for you, Gunbei! D-K, there *must* be someone selling these "guns" -- radio-shack, maybe? Indeed, they do have something (mine doesn't specify) and crackle when they meet static electricity.Cheers!
Sakura Systems OTA Cable Kit Interesting post, D-K. Thanks for info!
Close your eyes and hear the music ? Sean, Bob's just illustrating the sonic qualities of his system is: so good, it makes you want to love and create (your own music)... Bob, I hope you don't create home-music to a vinyl background: you know, that recurrent and distracting sound as ...
Playing back 78s? Where do I start? As Sd notes, the speed adjustment is *VERY* important. A friend has a large number of 78's some which reach 88rpm for a correct pitch! He uses a modified Goldmund and an old "Lenco" with pitch control and, ofcourse, the conical styli for 78.
Confused By A Transport Upgrade D-K: I use an "antistatic pistol" (the kind we used for LPs in the old times) on the casing and the cabling (including PCs) -- during system operation (low volume). But, my gear is ss: I would be wary of using the gun on the tubes during operation...

Confused By A Transport Upgrade Ditto, D-K on the static and regarding the 7/24 power on. With me however, the more beneficial results of power on have been with the DAC rather than the transport... Maybe there's a transport -- DAC mismatch. You'll know, playing with cables and ...

where I might be able to find spk spades To add to the excellent sourcing advice above: Saw some "Aurix" spades on offer @$25/quad thru the bearlabs site (bearlabsusa.com). Cheers!
I normally don't ask for help, but..... May God Bless you, Cindy and Gary, and Give you both the strength to carry on. You are not alone.
How did U get into this expensive hobby? Stereo, even your bog-standard Rolls is more expensive, let alone twο Ferraris. Surely, this is one the cheapest expensive hobbies around. Think about the cost of Formula 1, of a polo team, etc... $15K for a pre-amp (power cord included), $30K for...
Best Unknown Jazz Album Anyone heard or listened to Julian Priester? I can't find the damn thing and can't remember the title -- I DO remember it is interesting. Talking about jazz obscurities, I picked up a Czech (Supraphon) LP by J. Stivin & Co Jazz System, "Five H... |
