Thanks Lak, Bear Lab cable is the best Good for you, Manzoor! Larry, I use S-Thunders -- in fact, i have bearlabs throughout the main system (ss). Connected "out of the box", the Thunders made a perceptible difference over the Nordost SPM refs I was previously using. For one, they soun...

Is Genesis Out of Business? Kpabila, you're lucky to get that voice. I'm still expecting an answer to the *repeated* mail I sent them 3 & 1 1/2 months ago!
Stereophile's refusal to review more low Hope the butter won't be rancid, Fpeel, by the time it reaches us!
Best tweak I use a black marker on the outer edge of redbook cd's. It helps absorb reflections during playback. Not as exciting as Subaru's set-up, but seems to help resolution.
brulee fails PC challenge Meta, can you report back on findings?;) Maybe a way to dispense with expensive disc washers...Cheers!
Arthur Salvatore WoW comments?? Detlof, thanks for volunteering. I think a swiss-gold plated gizmo will do the trick. Scratch Siemens and replace with "Piaget Com". I'm going to get the guy suitably excited with my exalted connections in anticipation of your visit. As to the Buga...
Which IC is more important? The source to pre IC carries a lower voltage signal so, the less the sonic interference of the conductor, the more "true to source" is the sound going to the pre. This said, different cables perform *differently* at different placements in the sys...
PC Challenge Test Results Great experiment, Jhunter! Re, remarks regarding "cable disturbing" etc. Just came across a professional catalogue on equipment & installations destined to electricians issued by Legrand, a french electrical equipment multinational. Samples of...
brulee fails PC challenge Sorry Leafs, point well taken and clear in yr post. Actually, I was clumsily taking it on from there.Asa, Kant to Kuhn! May I humbly say I'm impressed? BTW, speaking of science, years ago I was told that the measured tolerances of vinyl cannot wit...
"Pace", it's importance for enjoyment? David, I think unwanted vibration *drains* energy from the machine, energy lost to music reproduction. Aren't our efforts focused on extracting that last ounce of energy from our system as a whole (cords, ICs, isolation tweaks...)? Perhaps the Neu...
Arthur Salvatore WoW comments?? Thanks Detlof. I'm trying to negotiate the fine with the bahnpolizei o-fuhrer. Presently we're down to house, wife and what's left of the Bugatti (for the autobahn museum). He hasn't shown interest in the rig -- yet.Any sugggestions, anyone?
brulee fails PC challenge I have had identical experience with my PCs taking time to "settle in": discernibly between 15"-60" (for my ears; I'm assuming I get used to the sound by then and miss subtle changes, if any, after that time). I'm *guessing* the settling-in time d...
How many would be surprised? For that matter, Nordost also uses tiny conductors in its flatline series -- which includes the bang for the buck (;)) Valhalla.I wonder: is it *more* expensive to manufacture micro vs. larger gauge wire?
Monoblocks or upgrade to larger amp? Viridian: so, does your experience tally with Redkiwi in that the 250 is the better sounding amp? Excuse my confusion, but your first post just has the one sentence Red reproduced (maybe the rest didn't get posted?) and in the second I can't see y... |
