Which Processor?
Good analysis.Slew rate is often touted, but the cheapest Op amp you can buy still has a slew rate capable of 100kHz or higher frequencies.  It's a little over-hyped spec IMHO.Best,Erik
Which Processor?
Excuse me, I meant to say the only "affordable" modular units. Of courses there is Theta and Digisat, but sky high prices for either and Theta's upgrade history is spotty in terms of staying current. Anthem has sold many processors claiming to be ...
Which Processor?
Hi everyone,I'm just curious why there's no mention of NAD's master series. They are the only units I know of with truly modular and upgradable construction, that actually gets upgraded! :) I've not heard them though, but occasionally they come on...
Adjust meters
If you are very lucky, there may be an adjustment trim pot near the meters to adjust.
Subwoofer cables - are they the same as normal analogue interconnects?
Yes, they are the same unless they are very expensive, in which case they are identical. :D :D :D
I think I need more bass traps, where to place them??
Contact GIK acoustics for help, and you may need to place your speakers like they were 2 subs.  What I mean is, you may need to place 1 speaker, and then look for the best location for the second. Use a mic to find the locations that have the wors...
Downsizing
I should also point out that while MTM designs have narrower dispersion, they also have more lobing. Being off axis of the tweeter can be a bigger deal than for a 2-way. So it's good to solicit listener opinions. I really like the LM-1C but can't ...
Downsizing
Also, there's an MTM kit designed by Dr. Joseph D'Appolito somewhere in the Parts Express speaker gallery you may want to check out as well. From my memory, the LM-1C was far more neutral, but again, have only heard the LM-1's, and when you are th...
Downsizing
I think if you have a small room, and using a sub, any of the three kits we've discussed will be really nice. :)
Downsizing
Dual woofers still go as low as 1 woofer, but have more dynamic range. Lots of people like that Dayton tweeter but I haven't heard them. If that's what you are looking for, the matching LM-1C is also an MTM. Check it!https://speakermakersjourne...
Hearing Aid
An EQ would also work. If you are all digital, putting one before your DAC will be inaudible. Best,Erik
I think I need more bass traps, where to place them??
Soffit traps, from GIK Acousitcs, you can run them on all 4 sides of your ceiling. However, two tips:1. Place your speakers asymmetrically2. Get an EQ. Since you have bass traps, controlling the room nodes is going to be a lot easier with an EQ, yo...
MQA ? Pono? What's better than the CD?
See the link I just posted. :) Enjoy.
MQA ? Pono? What's better than the CD?
That makes it sound a lot better, I take it back, MQA rocks.... er, not. :) https://www.meridian-audio.com/news-events/meridian-audio-launches-mqa-master-quality-authenticated/
recommend DAC for mirror image audio .2p (preamp) with JBL 4344
Schiit is in your price range and warm sounding. Just above that is the Mytek Brooklyn. Lots of people raving about the Ayre Codex too.
