What used speaker would you buy with $20,000-$35,000 and why?
If I had to buy used... Sonus Faber Cremona Elipsa or Stradivari with a Dirac Live DSP before my DAC. :-) Main reason is they are stunning, second I love the tweeters they used, not to mention the overall performances. :) I would spend around 2k o...

You might want to take this request over to the DIYAudio forum's classifieds.  Lots of DIY'ers there may be interested.
Revel F208 by itself or F206 with a sub?
My usual advice is, large floor standers are easier to make sound well than satellites plus a sub.  Subs are demanding and difficult to make sound great.  If you are willing to take the time though a sub  can be pretty awesome with any speaker, bo...
The illusion of soundstage.
Altering the relationship in time of one frequency to another is quite easy to detect with the right tools. It's quite easy for you to measure using something like Room EQ Wizard as well. However almost all of this is caused by the speakers themse...
Anyone Had Experience with USB Ground Isolators?
I take it back.  It's ridiculous that all DAC's don't have galvanic isolation on all metal conductors.  Obviously, optical cables don't need it, but it's so cheap, no so-called audiophile DAC should avoid it.
The next step to a better system
I know Oppo has Tidal and Pandora clients on their blu ray players, controllable via the Oppio Media Control app. An inexpensive upgrade might be the Parasound Z DAC v. 2, really an easy to love DAC for the price.  Another option might be the Fiio...
Opinion on best hand held Remote?? Universal or
After the Marantz, the Home Theater Master line was my favorite. The issue was really the programming took a little while to learn, but once set up was great.  They may be outdated in their firmware now as well.I tried a Logitech with USB programm...
How about Monitor Audio Silver 8 speakers ? pair with a Mcintosh MC2105
I like Monitor Audio about 10 times more than B&W.  Musical and smooth, without being shy.  They are also in my opinion, much better values than the Focal's at almost any price range.  They do have some boost in the bass and treble, but it's m...
$16K new/used speaker question?
Listen to the Magico S1 Mk II.  The top end is much better than most Wilson's, though bright for me.  You should evaluate it and see if it's for you. It _may_ be too hard to drive though. What about the Zu's?
What centre channel are you using?
LM-1C DIY Speaker. Extremely clear, matches my much more expensive side speakers superbly. Very flat response. Tweeter is very highly thought of, woofer or it’s variants is being used in several boutique speakers. Listener needs to be between twee...

Anyone Had Experience with USB Ground Isolators?
it is kind of ridiculous to me that all usb dacs do not include galvanic isolation and that stereophile tests only on battery power.  all dacs need to have this built in and tesed for it.besterik
Moving to Paris Need: Equipment & 230V @ 50Hz Advice from experts
+1.  I think you will end up regretting taking any thing.  Plus you'll get to go to the real High End show in Munich!!! Get yourself a nice portable unit like a Fiio F7 and K5 headphone amp to tide you over until you can do some shopping.  You won...
Acoustic panels - how high?
Hi Rocky,One thing I have found is that acoustic panels improve imaging in the dimension you lay them out.  That is, if you don't find very deep imaging, put more behind the speakers. If you find the image is in a line between your speakers, put m...
best bookshelf speakers for < $2000?
Unfortunately there’s just too much that happens between the master tapes and the disc or file you play to be able to draw any direct conclusions about analog vs. digital. Besides vendors deliberately sweetening mixes to prove the superiority of D...
