One DAC/integrated you could be happy with forever?
Anyone for Primare?
Is there actually a difference?
Hi VT! I don't think you should listen with your eyes. My point was for you to listen to each of them and see if you hear a difference. I think reading the tech and then convincing yourself you hear a difference is the wrong way to go. :) However,...
Which is the better one of these two speaker systems?
In the bedroom, size matters, on the other hand, I've had CS mini speakers, and they were just OK. What about a Sonos?
Bi wire and powered woofers
If the woofer inputs are high impedance inputs, then zip wire would work and might sound better than single wiring with fancy cables. :) We used to use this kind of configuration, the high impedance inputs were pretty much cable insensitive. Best,E
Best Speaker cable in the $400.00-$500.00 range for 2 meters
You should try Wireworld. I don't claim they are best though, but good value and may mesh well with your system.
Sound panels on pitched ceiling?
The big tweeter array means it acts more like an ESL, or a large driver for the mids. This means sound is more focused directly in front of it, and less goes to the sides. While audiophiles like to talk about first reflection points, they ignore t...
The most fun you can have in audio is DIYing your own speakers
@johnk - I don’t see where we are off except in one thing: I’m talking about the cost for the _drivers_ alone (woofer + tweeter, etc) vs. final retail pricing for the entire _speaker_ (drivers, cabinet, crossover). Your math goes down the same pla...
I just inherited 800-1000 CD's and a lot of them are filthy
You can also dry them with clean towels. Dry straight across, and avoid circular motions!
Sound panels on pitched ceiling?
Should point out that those are actually bass traps. So that is why corners are most effective. :) Tekton's have a narrow coverage angle from the midrange to the treble. It means direct reflections are less important, but dispersion and overall re...

The Ayre Codex has an amazing headphone amp.
Channels bleeding into each other
Technical term is "crosstalk." Turning the balance all the way to the left or right is not how to tell. :) The balance control is not meant to go all the way to off, but to give you a range of adjustment for recordings, hearing, and situations whe...
Is there actually a difference?
There are, in my mind, kind of 3 amps you should listen to and see if you think they sound the same:ParasoundPassAyreThese amps to me are rather opposed to each other in terms of sound. If you cannot tell the difference between them, buy the cheap...
Wireworld
BTW, I have spent around $800 on Wireworld cables! It is not that I don't like them, I just appreciate their sonic characteristics. I am not toing to lie and call Eclipse 7 speaker cables "neutral" if I dont think they are. Euphonic is better. :)
