Mytek slams Hypex in Stereophile Amp Review Not if there's a -50'-60' degree negative phase shift also at 3ohms, then the amp could be looking at nearer 1ohm.Not exactly how this works, but yes, large phase shifts mean high currents near zero volts. Hard for most amps. Would be nice if we h...
Mytek slams Hypex in Stereophile Amp Review addyson : Well, I don’t own stock and won’t make money either way, but that kind of attack in the press is really not one I am used to. Anyone have experience comparing Pascal vs. Hypex amps?
Mytek slams Hypex in Stereophile Amp Review cheeg : My bad, I _thought_ that while sober I had seen the insides and it looked like an ICEpower module. I stand corrected, and obviously overlooked that in the article.Thank you for correcting. Best,Erik
Mytek slams Hypex in Stereophile Amp Review BTW, it is NOT OK to brush off Mytek’s criticism as "typical Class-D"Typical Class D is far better than that. It is a big deal if Mytek is right, or if they are lying. Those are big big claims. And I say this with the full context of the article, ...
Mytek slams Hypex in Stereophile Amp Review Well, I’m sorry, I did not agree when I posted the article, I did not trim it to be scandealous, or click bait. You want to complain, pay me. Otherwise, add to the conversation. From my point of view, and you may disagree wizabet, either way it is...
Mytek slams Hypex in Stereophile Amp Review elizabetty something something not replying to nonsense, something something.
Mytek slams Hypex in Stereophile Amp Review addison:If your going to copy and paste something from an article, you shouldn’t do just part of it.Meh. I included the source, and the rest of the paragraph doesn't really change the quote. If you were my editor and this was a site I was paid to...
Anyone using a Class D amp w/ribbon tweeters? @1graber2 I am using ICEpower 25 ASP based mono blocks. One under each speaker. Literally. :) My ribbons are from Mundorf. Sound fabulous, but electrically VERY different than a ribbon.Ribbons tend to be very low impedance, and need a matching tra...
Class D is just Dandy! I do not. I have the v1 which has a USB input instead. Best,E
Wireworld Well, what is great if not colored in a way that meshes with your own system? :) I compared the Wireworld to Mogami fine stranded copper wiring, and that’s what I found. If your system is already pretty laid back these are not the cables for you.O...
Anyone using a Class D amp w/ribbon tweeters? I’m using Class D with top-end AMTs, no problem at all, though technically not ribbons. If you are using a true-ribbon they tend to have transformers, I'd be curious to know how the Class D work with those. AMTs are nearly purely resistive, so I m...
Pre-Amp input questions. Normally you would put the DAC between the CD player and the preamp. It would also act as a switcher for any other digital sources.
Is there actually a difference? Read Pass' own writing on the subject of amps and distortion. He makes it pretty clear. BTW, I'm not saying this is a negative thing. You should buy what pleases your ear and if Pass pleases your ear, buy it. Best,E
Wireworld Definitely very colorful cables. They sacrifice midrange liveliness for warmth and imaging.I did a half blind listening test, and everyone agreed to the characteristics, but we were split on which was better. :)
Affordable Processor with Fabulous 2 Channel ? Still looking, and still unpacking. :) Right now I am running with a Mytek Brooklyn as my DAC/preamp. It is hoooked up to the TV via optical. My source is Roku. I have a Parasound P7 and Oppo still boxed up. There's no guarantee I'll really ever g... |
