Direct or Reflect ... What's your flavor
I wish somebody would come out with a contemporary version of the Definitive Technology BP 20. You know, I'm kind of surprised no one is making add-on speakers to turn any speaker into a bipolar.  Self-powered, self calibrating accessories that ...
The “They are here” vs “You are there” sound topic
@mijostyn I think we can all evaluate for ourselves how much fun and pleasure our systems create for us. :) The rest I took to another thread.
Direct or Reflect ... What's your flavor
@audiokinesisI read no argument there.  The truth is we are all here to figure out what kind of illusions we like the most. Then we argue what measurements and tools make this illusion more easy to define and achieve. Best,Erik
Direct or Reflect ... What's your flavor
@mrdecibel OK, maybe the 901s were not, but a lot of future Bose speakers were. :)
The “They are here” vs “You are there” sound topic
Sorry @mijostyn but I'm honestly not sure what part of my statement you are objecting to. None of what you wrote seems to oppose anything I wrote. If you can be specific to any given point, then I might be able to understand your message a little ...
The “They are here” vs “You are there” sound topic
What is in a recording? What is the data present in it? The musicians and the venue. So, I think if we ignore the musicians for a bit, this question really can be re-written this way:How much of the recording environment comes through the sound sy...
AVAA Active Bass Traps
Of course, in case you are new here, I usually recommend a combination of bass traps and EQ. If you are using a sub, pub the EQ on the subwoofer only.
AVAA Active Bass Traps
Try the GIK Accoustic traps. I like the Soffit Traps a great deal, but most go with the corner traps. Best,E
Class an vs class d
The class is irrelevant. How they play with your speakers matters. You should talk more about your speakers and preamp.
Why you want upsampling and upconversion in a server and why it sounds way better!
For me, all roads have lead back to native frequencies. I have yet to find any DSP combination in Roon that is more appealing than a native file, I don't really care for the upsampling to DSD. In PCM mode it seems harmmless, but I do use the ...
Vertical bi amping Mcintosh MC275 and Rotel RB-1582 MkII
There is a standard, I believe it is 28 dB of gain, which amps often stick to.  Try it, and see if the balance changes a great deal.
To integrate or not...
Love my Luxman. :) I kind of went all over, including monoblocks. The Luxman solved a lot of issues for me, including my love of meters, but seriously things like reduced cabling and space, but fabulous sound stage, and tonal balance and extension...
Room Correction without loosing MQA and DSD
@martin-andersenWould love to have more details about your room and pictures of the charts. I spent maybe 30 minutes with Roon filters, never attempted convolution, didn't seem to need it.
Comparison of latest DAC chips
Audio Science Review is the Julian Hirsch of DACs. They fail to do science and instead bake-in confirmation bias to everything they hear.
So It`s Ok To Mix and Match Ported and Sealed Subwoofers ??
Excellent, from what I've read, the HSU ULS-15 mk2 are a very good choice. They are very good. :) Monsters in fact.
