How to connect RCA 5.1 surround sound to receiver? This is a Dolby ProLogic 5.1 receiver, with 5.1 pre outputs only.I will go ahead and assume you are a masochist above all others and insist on keeping it instead of upgrading. Set your TV output to the optical and set it to stereo only or PCM. NOT...
AVAA Active Bass Traps OP:The partial solution is really a very good one:Good bass traps that work in the range in questionEQ. I use Roon to put the finishing EQ touches in my room. Works like a champ. Call GIK Acoustics and actually ask them for advice. They are expert...
Any reason not to place stand mounted speakers upside down? Of course, besides flipping the speaker, you can use IsoAcousutic style pucks to tilt them. :)
Any reason not to place stand mounted speakers upside down? No, but do listen. The ideal listening location is usually somewhere at or below the tweeter axis when placed normally, so you might very well prefer to listen on mid woofer axis anyway.
Streamers and bit rot. So, for now, I use a discontinued Chromecast Audio with iFi reclocker. Both the reclocker and power cable upgrade for the CCA dramatically improved my system. I’m happy with this setup for now as I don’t really know how a more expensive streamer ...

AVAA Active Bass Traps What is a Swarm pls? A cult of people who try to sell you more subwoofers than you need. They will accept no other solutions. If you agree to install four subs you are one of them. If you think other solutions may fit better you are an enemy.
AVAA Active Bass Traps There's also the Bag end active bass trap, never used it. https://bagend.com/products/series/active-bass-trap/
Questions on capacitor replacement It’s an easy DIY project, if you know how to solder, and have the right solder tips for it. :) Make sure you don’t increase the uF too much in power supply caps, but DO get higher temp caps for the main and DO get equal or greater V ratings. Incre...
Help! High level subwoofer input on a class D amp introduces ground loop. In my limited experience, the difference between high and low level inputs isn’t subtle. Through the high level input, the sub disappears into the mains. This in my mind has a lot more to do with the crossovers than the connections. That is m...
Optimal connectivity for watching TV and 2 channel audio You have kind of two choices. First, run the audio into a DAC, and then into the integrated. Second, get an AVR like an Anthem, and run the L&R out to your integrated, but the C and Surround channels directly.
Class D is just Dandy! Hi @eddietI never heard one. Ended up with the NAD equivalent and very happy. They use a hybrid , almost like a Class H, Class D and Class A in one, designed by Hypex. No, the new transistors won't make anything obsolete, but sure will make thin...
Direct or Reflect ... What's your flavor One other point needing to be made is that monopole loudspeakers (forward-firing enclosure designs) are monopoles at only certain frequencies We're now conflating dispersion with speaker topology, which I was trying to get at. Besides, even wh...
