There's a lot more bass in a 6.5" driver than most of you think So much misinterpretation. I’ll quote the good Floyd Toole where he explicitly discusses his feelings on the importance of using EQ: So, if one has a known neutral loudspeaker what does "room EQ" bring to the party? Above about 500 Hz, very littl...
String Together MIT XLRs? You can always string cables together, but I challenge you to buy a set of Mogami XLR that don't soundd better.
Dirac Live default Have you seen the upgrade they just released a week ago?
High End Audio......Sucking the Romance out of the Music? Life is too short to buy some one else's favorite stereo system. (C) 2020
Low-sensitivity speakers — What's special about them? The really short answer:Speaker designers can trade sensitivity for bass. That is, by loosing power overall, we improve the bass to mid and treble balance. You should look into 2.5 way speakers as a close alternative. Better sensitivity and more b...
Accounting for slight hearing loss if youre going for a mini dsp you might as well retune the entire crossover Said a man who literally has no idea what he's talking about.
New Setup Volume Issue Sounds like a cartridge to phono preamp mismatch.
AVAA Active Bass Traps Hey JagJag,I’d rely on GIK, they’ll give you the right types of traps. Roon is a streamer with built in EQ capabilities. In my case I never spin a CD, either I am listening to online services like Tidal or I’ve ripped my CD’s onto solid state disk...
Accounting for slight hearing loss The Loki is RCA analog only. If you want something that sits between a CD player and DAC, this will do the trick:https://www.minidsp.com/products/minidsp-in-a-box/nanodigi-2x8-bBut... perhaps you should consider a miniDSP with built in streaming?...
How to connect RCA 5.1 surround sound to receiver? Also, make sure your receiver is set up properly. They usually need to know whether or not you have a center, surround and sub. If you have it set to work without surrounds, that is what will happen.
Streamers and bit rot. Good to know. I’ve heard some say that more expensive DACs will have jitter reducing (reclocking?) built in to their various inputs. Not really how it works. I mean, expensive is a relative term. Look at the Stereophile jitter measurements for My...
How to connect RCA 5.1 surround sound to receiver? Well, make sure you have the proper material, and that the receiver is set to Pro Logic and not just stereo. :) I find Netflix is a good place to find stuff. Also, not sure what your TV has for settings, but if it has a downmix setting, use it. :)...
Accounting for slight hearing loss If it were me, I’d account for the loss in an EQ before my DAC. If that’s’ not an option you can take, the Schiit Loki may work for you. You’ll have to kind of hack it, you’ll only use one channel. :) Digital EQ's are a lot more transparent, and c...
Accounting for slight hearing loss Leave the crossover alone. What is your source? Do you have copies of your hearing loss chart?
How to connect RCA 5.1 surround sound to receiver? Also, if you are lucky, your TV will have analog outputs, those can be directly connected to the receiver. My latest LG does not, my older Samsung does. |
