Dedicated audio circuit question about the breaker Arc is safer. Leave it alone. :)
Discussion of Class D Amps Application & Experiences George's ability to cut and paste is unsurpassed by anything other than his passion of convincing those who like Class D that they must be mistaken. Whatever you personally have experienced, it's irrelevant because George has an ancient article to...
A Surge Suppressor Story In terms of audiophile cred, series mode suppressors have the best noise reduction. Starts around 3 kHz. For a passive system, that's a lot better than the MOV based units, not quite as good as the regenerators though.
To warm up or not to warm up, and...? In my mind, equipment doesn't need to warm up so much as reach stability. Worst case is you make this take a little longer, while trading longer equipment life. As others have said, heat is the enemy of a lot of components, especially capacitors....
blu-ray/cd/sacd player with EQ or tone controls? Any recommendations please? I don't know of any pure disk player, but if you rip and use Roon, you can do it there. miniDSP has a couple of digital domain EQ and there's at least one network player with this built in.
"Bridge Over Trouble Water" sounds artificial Not wrong, IMO, but this is what I've talked about before. Trends and fads in what is considered a normal or good speaker system have changed over time. You can't make a perfect speaker system for today and expect it to sound fabulous for all pas...
blu-ray/cd/sacd player with EQ or tone controls? Any recommendations please? So, you just need analog tone controls? Schiit Loki.
An Odd Question I would imagine they would act like Helmholtz resonators. I have heard and believe a story of Klipschorn cabinets being used as effective bass traps. Possible effect I believe would be to pull out those frequencies, but generally, I believe and s...

My testing confirms 16/88 is the best sounding sample rate I like to jump way past any discussion of findings straight into conspiracy theories. It saves me a lot of time when I already know where I'm going to end up. Kudos, Sam.
Left channel of Pass X250.5 runs warmer than right Caps probably have little to do with it, but I encourage you to get a temp sensor to validate your observations.Bias is set generally to get the best balance of low idle power and lowest distortion. Class A is, as I recall, the opposite, and attem...
Discussion of Class D Amps Application & Experiences 45 years in audio. I’ve never sampled Class D. Why? Because Class A is so satisfying. Hard to tell which came first though. It's like mom's home cooking, if that's what you like and want to have nothing else will do. Best,E
No "Room Correction" Topic option. Why? Sorry, to be clear, what I meant to say was:The entire room contributes to the decay rates so in non-direct points, if you can't have enough absorption in one location you can mitigate it somewhat by adding elsewhere. For instance, if you have bi...
No "Room Correction" Topic option. Why? The whole room matters, especially in non immediate reflection points. I'd talk to GIK who can give you great advice and products, but it depends really. If your whole room is well damped, rug over slate will work, but if the additional glass me... |
