Class-D amps - a different re view
(...) class D marketing is a tendency to hyperbolic generic claims of the type. . . 'X crushes SS/tube sacred cows costing 4 times as much'You hit the nail o the head, Guido. This is the reason I gave this example.Class-D ppl are trying to persuad...
Old Ceraballs vs New
I use mine under my speaker cables (the old ones). There is a review written by Roy Gregory from HiFi+ (UK) on Finite Elemente web site, where he briefly compares the new vs old ones.

What can I say, sadly, I am probably not a member of the species 'Homo sapiens', because 'tubey' distortion do not sound at all priviledged to these poor ears. You are going to the extreem here. Not all tube amps sound "tubey" and yet, they still h...

Eldartford - the fact is, that some distortions are more easily accepted by human ear than the others. That is where tube designs have their advantage. They may measure as good (or as bad - depending on the point of view) as the SS design, but in ...

Room Acoustics
Sound proofing in an apartment can be done - no problem. I have just finished my "dedicated listening room in an apartment" project. To increase soundproofing you need MASS. Forget carpets and egg cartons. They are useless.
Cable Elevators
In my system, lifting big and heavy speaker cables (AQ Everest) from the hardwood floor made a noticable difference. Since the is no carpet/fabric involved, my guess is that it has sth to do with vibrations.Currently I'm using Finite Elemente Cera...

Kijanki - ok, fair enough. I would like to know though, why do you think that:1. Pushing broad band radio frequency noise into the power supply outlets 2. Pushing broad band radio frequency noise out of the line and ground connections is considere...
Favorite reviewer?
I value Martin Colloms for his undisputed integrity (HiFi Critic/UK). Roy Gregory is also high on my list (Hifi+/UK).For pure fun, old Corey Greenberg is hard to beat (Stereophile). And so is Ken Kessler (HiFi News/UK).

Kijanki -> may I ask where are you from ? Are you from Denmark ? I'm asking since B&O, the maker of ICEpower modules is from Denmark as well, which in my view may influence your opinion (call it a local patriotism).
Reference DACS: An overall perspective
I have just read the "revised version". Funny as hell. I had a good laugh reading it. This is my favourite part (APL 3910):"If you happen to doze off, do not be surprised, so relaxing is this player. "LOLTrue or not, that was a good reading.

Dev -> can you elaborate more about the sonics of AA gear, especially compared to Ref 7 ?

Making your ARC 110/210/220 dead quiet
I can feel your pain. I used to have the PS Audio P-300 and I used to run it with the fan disconnected. The noise from that fan was unbearable for me. PS Audio allowed to run P-300 with no fan unless you did not draw more than 80-100W. Maybe you c...
