Michael Aday (Metloaf) has passed away.
I'll guess he isn't in the rock and roll hall of fame because he simply wasn't a big enough, or influential enough, star.
The invention of stereo sound...
Blumlein is one of my gods. Whenever I came across a record that employed his ideas, I’d buy it.
Michael Aday (Metloaf) has passed away.
I saw him live at the Roxy in West Hollywood. He was one of the featured players in the original L.A. production of the Rocky Horror Show...yes, the live version that preceded the movie release. Loud, hammy and full of fun. He owned that stage. An...
Am I a hopeless audio snob?
This post might stray a bit from the subject at hand, but allow me to ramble.   I started my adult, finally-have-money-to-fuel-my-stereo-nuttiness with a Technics direct drive turntable bought from a high-pressure guy at a local Pacific Stereo. ...
What are your favorite "HOT" songs?
Former New York Doll David "Buster Poindexter" Johansen's "Hot Hot Hot."
your first system-
@ejr1953  Your system is damnably close to a system I actually had at one time...as my dad would regularly hand down stuff that was a victim of his upgrade-itis. The Wollensak reel-to-reel. The Kenwood KW-40, which I remember first  seeing at the...
What are some of your favorite "COLD" songs?
Ten Degrees and Getting Colder, by Gordon Lightfoot.
your first system-

Clarity and life.
For lovers of the 1961 West Side Story soundtrack lp.
My Original Broadway Cast CD is slightly Columbia Records trebly & compressed but it is spacious, 3d and clean. And oh yeah, I totally love the soundtrack of the recent Stephen Spielberg feature release. It's on Qobuz. Gustavo Dudamel gives Le...
How much “suspension of disbelief do you need?”
"I am there" or "They are here" almost never happens for me, but it isn't something I obsess over. I just need to get close enough.
Mytek Brooklyn DAC+ Volume Settings?
I always kept the volume control on my Brooklyn Bridge in bypass mode. I just used the volume control on my integrated or the volume controls on the various streaming sites I haunted... And yes, I am speaking about my Brooklyn Bridge in the past t...
Genre: Sacred or Early World Music, what's your go to?
I like Benjamin Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols," "Rejoice in the Lamb," and "Missa Brevis." I have the three on a truly wonderful old Argo LP. Maybe it's even somewhere on the net. Definitely worth searching out.

yoyoyaya -- I truly liked Ultravox. I have my share of Ultravox records. I saw them, too. At one of those I-can't-remember-which West Hollywood night clubs.
