TAD Reference loudspeakers-How good are they?
The feedback on the TAD's from RMAF 2010 is very positive. IMO & IME I find them overall excellent speakers with the typical advantages and disadvantages of Be drivers. That is detailed and needing very fine amplification to sound their best. ...
Tweaks for EMM CDSA SE ... ?
I have done most of the changes done above (iec, power cord) but also have the EMM on 4 stillpoints which itself rests on a wood plinth on 4 small springs which rests on my rack. That was a nice improvement.
How important is Cartridge Overhang? Need help
By the way overhang or more exactly a change in effective length of the tonearm via poor setup is not as important as VTA, VTA, anti skate or azimuth. Just a FYI. Do the measurements. The slight change in effective length / overhang can either res...
Schroder sq and the new talea
Ed,Amazing. 10 steps in a row yesterday. She loves the music. She also knows how to turn on my preamp among other things. I have a feeling a little longer and I need to pack my turntable up. She loves Dad's toys. The best arm to have kept now gone...
Schroder sq and the new talea
Goldereraguy,Invitation is still open. My system sounds better than last year. Would you believe due to the change of a resistor on my RIAA stage. If you provide yourself, I will provide scotch & the like. We can do a shoot out depending on wh...
Schroder sq and the new talea
Dan_ed,Your confidence amuses me. That is what I love about Audiogon. There is always something new blowing away the lastest and greatest w. the same old technology. What is even more amusing is how many of the same jump on board. I have already b...
Schroder sq and the new talea
All of my statements are generic. I am aware about the A90 variation. Heard it from quite a few users. Jtinn,I never mentioned who told who what. Got me confused on that. I have never owned the Talea so I don't have anything good, bad or otherwise...
Schroder sq and the new talea
I didn't go to the shootout while there. Simple reason. I knew that it would end up being inconclusive. Every arm has it's synergies and I know a few who are not fond of the A90. I also know a few who love it. Goes to show how important the system...
Simon Yorke turntables-audiophile best value?
What directions? What is the point of asking if you heard the praise already? Not saying it is good or bad, but if I heard praise already then... just fill it in yourself. Assuming you have a specific question, the older Yorke tables were consider...
New Wilson Sasha VS Wilson Audio Sophia 2
Madfloyd,Heard the VTL MB450 Mk3 driving the Sashas. Simply amazing. It will leave you with a smile stuck on your face so wide like you just road a very fast roller coaster.
Free ARC Protractor
True but for those that don't....What is great also is that there are several different programs. You can run all sorts of comparisons for different Null Points and what is the effect when you deviate from the prescribed overhang. It shows changes...
Sennheiser HD 650's thin sounding?
I have the HD 600s and find they are wonderful. I use the MG Head OTL headphone amp. For me they are better than any stereo system I have heard with more detail and nice weight and decent bass. I have more experience w. Speakers and Amps but it so...
12 inch Graham Phantom
Each arm is optimized for a different standard. I would propose that it isn't a matter of 12 vs 10.5 vs 9 but more a matter of the individual arm and the setup geometry chosen. Lofgren A vs B vs Stevenson. The arcs they draw are extremely differen...
12 inch Graham Phantom
I remember reading somewhere that mistakes in setting up a 12 inch arm as compared to a 9 inch arm will be more "severe". I forget where I read it but it seems to make sense. A 12 inch arm is less tolerant of poor setup than a 9 inch. Also I find ...
