Mesa Boogie vs Fender
@three_easy_payments   That is obviously true, but in what ways does the Fender sound differ from the Mesa sound for these particular amps, in your opinion?
Mesa Boogie vs Fender
@edcyn  what Mesa where they using back in the day? I think a Pre-CBS Vibrolux is a killer piece, sounds amazing with single coils. Too bad you got rid of the Vibrolux.
Black Sabbath Master of Reality 1st or 2nd press?
Second for the UK Vertigo swirl pressing. Tremendous sound, and unfortunately, now a tremendous price!
New Turntable Direction
@xagwell Your Linn has a great upgrade path..Karousel and Radikal along with either a Kore or a Keel. Karousel is the first in line, then Keel or Kore and lastly the power supply. Having said that, a top end Basis is where i would go next if going...
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
Ralph, you make an interesting point. If you could only have one turntable and had to live with it or the rest of your life, then buying one table that has nowhere to go as to upgradeability could be perceived as advantageous!OTOH, if you wanted a...
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
@saburo  Setting up an LP12 is probably no more difficult than a number of other high end tables. The issue is that, at least IME, a basic set up isn't really going to get you 100% of what the table can accomplish. Best to leave the set up to some...
ARC REF 150SE vs REF 160S
@gpgr4blu  You bring up an interesting point. When was it that any gear manufacturer stated that their latest and greatest, which now costs 2-3X the last product, was in fact only 'maybe 15 percent' better? I can not recall one instance of this......
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
@fstein  Perhaps think about upgradeability as a way to minimize audio nervosa..because one does NOT have to constantly trade or sell the table that is not upgradeable. You can stick with the same platform ( the LP12) and not have to fret about wh...
Cartridge Opinions - Sorry
@klooker  To get back to your OP, with an Ittok, a good cartridge would be Linn's own Krystal. The Benz Wood cartridges are all good, but not that easy to source these days. BTW, Linn's philosophy on upgrades is from the inside out...so the tonear...
The very best sound: Direct to Disc
I just acquired the RCA Direct to Disc of Eiji Kitamura, Swing sessions. Promises to be excellent. Anyone else have this one?
Magico A5 official Announcement
I would like to know how truly efficient the new A5 is. Many speakers claim to work well with this or that minimum power, but really have such a nasty impedance drop at certain frequencies, that a monster amp is required. In the case of these new ...
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
@coachpconnor   You spoke to one of the better 'fettler's in the US in Thomas O'Keefe. He would certainly be one of the 'go to' guys to go to for LP12 set up expertise. As to your question about the Hana SL..and the MS Nova Phonomena, i don't have ...
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
@coachpoconnor The Linn you are describing for that money would be an excellent table assuming that you can get it set up correctly and the Lingo is still in good working condition. I think that you would be getting a table that would sound at lea...
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
@lewm  Your post is totally correct, unfortunately whenever the Linn table is mentioned on threads, there are always those who even though they never owned a Linn, or last owned it decades ago, still manage to naysay. Says a lot about these folks,...

@bimasta   So, let's hear your suggestions...and their price points.
