Diamond Stylus Enters the 4th Dimension
Sounds like the glue holding the stylus to the cantilever let go. One question, did you use one of the Onzow type bubble cleaners with this cartridge? They have been known to eat cantilevers and stylus, although with the proper handling protocols,...
Telefunken vacuum tube E88CC-TK; NOS versus brand new.
I recently rolled in a number of different NOS tubes to compare to the stock EH's that came in my amp and the stock Sovtek's that came in my preamp. The tubes include NOS Amperex PQ's, NOS Silvania Gold Brand, NOS Telefunken Smooth and Ribbed plat...
Jadis JA30 Mk2, how great???
@samhvcc   The JA80 Mk2 is going to give you more power and therefore headroom than the JA30Mk2. It is going to be a much better match to your Sony's. As to whether it will sound better, on your speakers ..yes. However, if one can utilize the lowe...
Esoteric DV60
To bump this thread, I own a DV60, for listening to music it is absolutely incredible. The Redbook section easily beat a friends Marantz SA11 S2 in an AB. The DV60 is getting a raw deal on this thread, particularly when it comes to music productio...
Are there any tube amps that don't give off any---
@jond  I actually do a seasonal amp rotation, the tube amps for the winter and mostly the ss amp for the summer. Even so, the ss amp heats the room enough within about 1.5 hours that it is time for the AC. Swapping out the KT150's for El34's may b...
Are there any tube amps that don't give off any---
In my room, even an amp that puts out just a little heat, over time heats up the room considerably. I already own a couple of amps that put out just a little heat ( one a ss amp, one a tube amp). I also have AC, and in the summer, this is required...

@atmasphere  Punching holes in walls or floors is not an option. My dedicated room is a stand alone structure on a concrete slab. No basement.
Are there any tube amps that don't give off any---
@jaytor Isn't the Purifi module a Class D module? I'm not really interested in a Class D amp, mainly due to the fact that all of the Class D amps i have heard are too sterile sounding to my ears. Even the 'best of class' Jeff Rowland models.
All New Magico A5 Loudspeakers // Biggest "BANG" For Your BUCK On The Market ?!
@mheinze  I wouldn't know, how did you get banned from audio forums?Perhaps you were trying to provoke arguments? --;0)
1st Album you Ever Owned?
Great thread. My first was a superb compilation album...Stereo Plus 3, which was a promo LP released by City National Bank. This promo LP featured Gladys Knight, Beatles and other great performers. If you can find a copy today, its a great listen.
Are there any tube amps that don't give off any---
@austinstereo.  That is interesting. I am not concerned about the issue of injury, as I never let folk get near the tubes. Your client has a point though if he had little children or pets that could get injured! The issue I brought up in my OP, has...
All New Magico A5 Loudspeakers // Biggest "BANG" For Your BUCK On The Market ?!
@sciencecop  I don't dispute that I am not a Magico fanboy like yourself, BUT i don't bash Magico at every opportunity, no need to. Yes, I am a 'lovely' person, are you? or are you just another nasty little troll?
Are there any tube amps that don't give off any---
Warm but not hot is how my amps get now. Problem is, that due to such a small room, warm over time is enough to heat the room considerably. I like the idea of maybe rolling in some smaller tubes, which might lead to even less heat. Something I wil...
All New Magico A5 Loudspeakers // Biggest "BANG" For Your BUCK On The Market ?!
@mheinze  I am not a Magico fanboy if you are asking that, and I don't get upset when someone offers an opinion of my speaker. You own A3's, good for you, so when i stated that they didn't impress me, you didn't like that...too bad. I have heard M...
Are there any tube amps that don't give off any---
@atmasphere Actually my AC works well enough to cool the room, BUT the issue is that it is a little noisy, just as any fan vent would be. Like you stated, my tube amps also run coolish when they are in standby, but once the voltage is applied, up ...
