Cartridge Opinions - Sorry
@rauliruegas  You posted this:  " Problem is that that gentleman is really a " roockie " in that specific issue but he think as his followers is an expert and is far away from there., like it or not all of them unfortunatelly(sic)  are wrong."  Fi...

@tyray I fail to see the relevance of the question in your last post? The cutting tool that is mounted on the end of the arm on a cutting lathe at the time of the lacquer mastering is not a cartridge/stylus. But if you are asking if that cutter is...
Cartridge Opinions - Sorry
Firstly, i want to say that I still agree with Ralph 100%. The arm is more important than the cartridge. IME, that is a FACT.Secondly, tyrays analogy to the boom and microphone is a false analogy when it comes to tonearm and cartridge, like Ralph ...
Does anyone have experience with seller Kron on cartridges?
It truly surprises me that Kron has access to so many cartridges that seem to be unobtanium to most dealers. Primarily of course the Benz line...are they still even in business??
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
@coachopconnor   There are a few additional mods to your table...1) Original stamped sub chassis, braced stamped sub chassis, Kore, Keel2) Power supply- original/Nirvana, Valhalla, 4 Lingos ( actually really five, as the first Lingo 2 was exactly ...
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
@cd318 This is telling: "Then there’s the question of just how much better is a top spec 2020 LP12 v a top spec 1980s LP12. I have heard that some have argued that successive upgrades have somewhat diminished its fabled analogue warmth. I don’t kn...
Mesa Boogie vs Fender
@edcyn  Nothing wrong with a steel string acoustic, I totally love my Taylors. Not totally enamored of the fact that they require mediums, but that is probably why the sound is to die for.

@rauliruegas  Your post is one that seems to take what I posted totally out of context. ( I know you are translating into English, so I understand the ability to misinterpret my posts). There are clearly going to be issues with the tonearm to cart...
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
Ralph, what LP12 did you hear that day...a new LP12 Magik, Akurate or Klimax? I heard a SL1200G about six months ago, it had the stock arm. That day I also heard a 10R with a 4Point arm, it was a lot better than the 1200G! ( as it should be for the...
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
@atmasphere Question.. Have you heard a recent Linn LP12...like an Akurate or a Klimax model? There are a lot of folks who naysay the LP12 because the last time they heard one was about thirty years ago and they heard one that was either 1) not se...
Cartridge Opinions - Sorry
@atmasphere  I agree with you 100%, the arm is more important than the cartridge. This is fairly easy to hear, place a lesser cartridge on a great arm and you will hear everything that the cartridge can give off, however, place a great cartridge o...
Mesa Boogie vs Fender
@dekay  I used to own a 70's silver face Champ, could never get it to sing, but back then i was using a crappy hum bucker Epiphone...probably would have a different opinion with my Strats and Teles today.
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
@cd318 What you state about the set up of a Linn is also true of any high end turntable, they need to be set up correctly to give off their best. So, and i have said this many times before, if one is looking for a 'plug and play' type of turntable...
Is a Linn Sondek LP12/Lingo/Ekos with a Cirkus update, the last turntable I’ll ever buy?
@atmasphere I guess it depends on whether you believe that the bearing ( or lack thereof) /motor/suspension ( or lack thereof), and overall build quality/SQ is where you want to end up with in regards to the Technics. If so, then sure it is a fini...
Mesa Boogie vs Fender
@edcyn  I hear where you are coming from, but I also think that a lot of the tone comes from 'playing the amp' which is what i try and do. With my Fender single coils, I can get pretty much any tone I want, depending on my playing and the amp sett...
