REL T7x or T5x for Small Room IME imaging does not suffer at all with a down firing sub woofer. Adding a couple of subs is a great way to go. To the OP, in your room size, i would probably start with one T5x and then see if you can add another.
What stereo equipment do respected musicians listen to? Most 'respected' musicians I know ( and I know quite a few, having being a pro myself), are not able to afford the kind of home gear they want, they can usually barely afford the pro gear that they need. Now IF you are talking of 'well known' musi...
How to choose an upgraded tonearm. I found out the hard way that the choice of table sometimes dictates the choice of arm. In my case, the Linn LP12 restricts one to a very limited choice of arm. ( This is by far the most annoying thing about Linn ownership). Unfortunately, the sam...
Hana Umami Red or Lyra Kleos? The key, already mentioned, with the Lyra Kleos is to assure a very accurate and exacting set up. IF ( a big IF) this is done correctly, you should be in a good place. Personally, I do not like VPI tables or arms, but this is a personal opinion. I...
Hana Umami Red or Lyra Kleos? @skyacraper The arm I use is based on a liquid bearing. Designed back in the day by William Firebaugh, it is a unique design that does away with all bearing noise. The arm is also very lightweight, as such it works well on the Linn LP12 platform.
Verastarr For too long now high end cables and the increased profit margin that this business model offers has appealed to a consortium of bad actors. Luckily, there are a few good folk still in the business, but not many. Question becomes whether this vend...
Hana Umami Red or Lyra Kleos? I have my Kleos mounted on a Well Tempered Black arm, this combo works very well. I think the SL version is best suited to someone who is able to use a SUT upstream of a ss phono stage…and nowhere near a tube phono stage. Otherwise, the standard v...
Hana Umami Red or Lyra Kleos? @skyscraper I went with the Kleos because i wanted a more resolving cartridge and felt the Hana was a little veiled in comparison. This could have been due to set up, or upstream/downstream gear, as I did not hear the two cartridges with the same...
Hana Umami Red or Lyra Kleos? I have heard both cartridges, not on the same arm. The Hana is a little warmer sounding to my ears than the Kleos. For what it's worth, I went with the Kleos.
Attention Esoteric CD/SACD Players Owners @jafant I actually think Redbook sounds incredible on this player. However, you have to turn off the video components of the player, otherwise the SQ seriously suffers. I also noticed that the player ( like most others) really responds to differe...
Attention Esoteric CD/SACD Players Owners @jafant I own a Esoteric DV60. More than impressed with the SQ of this model. I use the DV60 for audio only, where it shines on Redbook or SACD playback.
McIntosh -- good for show, not for sound, says dealer There are a lot of brick and mortar stores dealing in high end that can keep the doors open solely due to their McIntosh sales…and are therefore able to offer more esoteric gear as a benefit, even if these lines sell to a fraction of McIntosh. To ...
Attention Esoteric CD/SACD Players Owners @jafant Excellent player. If you get a chance, the new Graceline cable from Black Cat cable, or the Zenwave cables from Dave are a superb match up with Esoteric Digital gear.
Black Cat 3232 Speaker cable? Chris at Black Cat makes some great cables. I think you would be pleased with 3232. Also, check out his Graceline cables if you really want to be amazed.
Customer Service Experience with REL I had to replace my amp section in my older T5 and the service was exemplary. The phone rep sent me instructions as to how to remove the amp module ( which was fairly easy) and the whole experience was smooth and painless. I think REL service is v... |
