Fastest subwoofer?
I am currently using a REL T5 with my SF Guarneri Homage speakers. The GH's are lightning fast, the REL is a very good match, if that says something about their speed. Depending on room size, I would highly recommend the T5 if one is using a small...
REL subwoofer crossover question
Hooked up the system as suggested by the ARC tech and all seems to work fine. The REL T5 is a great match to my speakers and room, highly recommended for the small room music only system.
Should I keep my Well tempered tonearm?
I've owned the WTA arm for about 15 + years. Mine is the Black version with the dual weighting system. I use this arm on a Linn LP12 and it works like a charm.I think the key with the arm is to set it up with about 2/3rds of the cup filled with si...
New REL T7 / T9 vs. older REL Storm III?
I just installed a T5 into my system. My room is very small...10'X11', but it is acoustically treated and has a 13' vault ceiling. The T5 is a great sub for this room, adding extension, punch and the ability to match seamlessly with my main speake...
WILSON ALEXANDRIA XLF SPEAKERS-
Silk dome vs. Titanium dome...DW has finally seen and heard the light...enough said, IMHO.
Wilson Sophia 2 or Sonus Faber Amati Homage
Johnnyb53, the OP is talking about the original Hommage series NOT the new line of Amati's. The price of the original Amati used is comparable to the Sophia 2's. BTW, I have heard both speakers and IMO, the difference is fairly great. The Amati's ...
REL subwoofer crossover question
I had to talk to the ARC tech support about the hook-up with my REL T5 and my ARC D70Mk2. The ARC' s of this vintage and possibly later, use the 4ohm tap as a ground and therefore hooking up the REL was not obvious. I was told to hook up the left ...
subs for Sonus Faber Cremona M floor standing
Raul, why do you think that speaker manufacturers do not use 12"tweeters or even for that matter many 12" midrange drivers. OTOH, why do you think that subwoofer manufacturers do not use 1" woofers? The ability of the driver to push air may have s...
subs for Sonus Faber Cremona M floor standing
One other thing that I forgot to mention in the Rel's favor....the hook-up scheme is IMO better than competing designs. The Neutrik connector allows a hi-level connection directly at the amp terminals, which allows the signal to be more precise to...
subs for Sonus Faber Cremona M floor standing
Raul, IMHO, a sub that matches well with SF Cremona M's is going to be a sub that is suitable for Erictye's room. Whatever sub that he ends up with will have to be fairly quick and easy to 'blend' with the Cremona's. In my system, the answer was t...
rel T1, any good for music?
The answer depends on the size of your room. Meiwan's answer is probably correct for the size of his room, BUT that doesn't mean to say that the T7 would not be appropriate for your room, where it may drop down well into the bottom end. I am utili...
subs for Sonus Faber Cremona M floor standing
Sksos1, I agree that one can always decrease the output of the sub....However, I do not think that in a small/very small room that is the best solution. To use a JL Fathom, for example in a 10 x11 room, would seem to me to be a mistake. Not only w...
subs for Sonus Faber Cremona M floor standing
I just acquired a REL T5 to mate with my SF GH's. I have a very small room, so a larger sub most likely would quickly overload the room. What size is your room? A JL is probably a good choice for a larger room, not so good for a smaller room.
Robin Trower
To me, everything that Trower has done is pretty amazing. Alethea, a lithe bit of sympathy and on and on....Saw RT live a few years back....almost made me give up playing...instead he motivated me more in the end.
Whom to invite to a Powercord shootout party
I would consider bringing a Supra Lorad to the party....:0)
