Cegtv1, you might try and listen to a CAT preamp. I use a SL1 Sig with rolled in tubes with my ARC D70Mk2 and IMHO it is a great match-up. The ARC is good enough to reveal most of the faults of up stream gear and a great tube preamp really lets th...
So what is the best speaker you have ever owned?
The one's that I currently own...the Sonus Faber Guarneri Hommage's.Not likely to be replaced any time soon, enjoying them too much..:0)
Rowland 625 versus Audio Research DS450
Have to agree with Raquel... I also think that the 2/6/8/9 amps would be a tough deal to produce today due to the smaller market. I have heard most of the current amps--exception the 625, and IMHO, while nice; they don't really play in the same ar...

Hi Deaf, well like you said...it seems a lot has happened for you in the last few weeks..:0) Congrats on the Acapella's...are the Campaniles the speakers with the four 10" drivers per side? I haven't heard these, but i would think that you would n...

YBA 2 amp+Sonus Faber Electa Amator?
Ruidorosa, I have heard the YBA 1 and the YBA 1 HC with SF Amati's. The amps are excellent and mate very well with these speakers. However, I think that the SF's do generally prefer tube amps to ss amps. What don't you like about your current VT50?
sonus faber GH with Sub vs Amat Homage
2-26-10: DaveyfSmaj, Thanks for the compliment..:0)BTW, Elviukai, I do not think that my GH's are at all lacking in instrument palp or localization in the mids... even in comparison to the Amati's. When I have heard the Amati's in the past, my imp...

sonus faber GH with Sub vs Amat Homage
Smaj, I too basically agree with Elviukai and 4musica. I doubt that the Amati's would work well in that size room. The GH's are far easier to integrate into your room and will respond well to a sub. You may want to look into bass trapping and poss...
Integrated amp for my Sonus Faber Guarneri
Hi Keiserrg, I do agree that Jadis makes some great pieces. I was able to hear the Orchestra with the GH's and liked the pairing very much. Not quite enough drive for the speakers, but still a very good sound and very smooth. A few years ago, I was...
Has anyone heard the Magico Mini?
Looks like the Magico Mini has been discontinued...No longer on Magico's web page.
Integrated amp for my Sonus Faber Guarneri
D.I.L.E. I own a CAT SL1 Sig. This is the first preamp that Ken Stevens starting using the current heavy duty chassis with. I have rolled in tubes into my unit which I think has helped enormously. IMHO, this preamp is still VERY competitive with t...
$3500 to spend on a tube preamp....ideas?
IMHO, a used CAT preamp will most likely open your eyes as to what a great tube preamp can do. A little hard to find, but if you can get an SL1 Sig with phono or one of the later models, VERY hard to beat, again IMHO.

Lloydelee21, I think what you say about CAT may apply to the amps, which are a little 'hands on'. However, I have not had any issues with my preamp over the many years that I have owned it, except to change tubes. I also think your suggestion of a...
Cat Stevens Tea for the Tillerman LP's
I now own an original UK Island pressing along with a US A&M and a MFSL. The Island is terribly noisy, I guess I bought a pristine looking LP that must have had a LOT of wear by the previous owner... a pity as the potential is there. The MFSL ...
