Whats on your turntable tonight?
Delfonics?! Sh*t, you ain't said nuthin', I grew up on them. Now, tell me this is a dream.
Jazz for aficionados
@frogman, I’ve been a member of the jazz.be website for 14 years. It’s the finest jazz website on the web for all things jazz guitar. But a very few there are actual jazz guitarists. Every one of them grew up playing rock and later came to jazz la...
No Insurance with FEDEX as of 11/01
FedEx has apparently changed. Between 1995 to 2005 I shipped 200k of stereo products between amps, preamps, speakers and everything else with FedEx. Over 200 packages. Not 1 was delivered with any issue. Between 2010 until present I’ve shipped 75...
Who Tried Power Conditioners Over The Years and No Longer Use Them Today, Any Why?
50 years in this hobby. Never once used a power conditioner. Some feel they hear a difference. I don't. Money saved. KaChing!
Jazz for aficionados
Guitarist Anthony Wilson live with Diana Krall. I much prefer his tone to Pat Martino’s. Reason being Anthony plays a Gibson Byrdland archtop as opposed to a tele like guitar. Save the tele’s for Rock. A serious jazz artist must play an archtop i...

Hank Mobley, Soul Station. Lee Morgan, Search For The New Land. Each on 180 Gram vinyl.
Dedicated 20 Amp Line for Audio
I have two dedicated 20 amp circuits. I use one for the amp, and place everything else on the other. I have two quad sets for a total of 8 plug-ins in my audio room. I don’t use line conditioner’s. This is good enough.
Best light weight full range speaker recommendation.
I use Martin Logan Spire’s. They’re 5 feet tall, and only weigh 57 pounds. 95% of that weight is in the speakers woofer base. The electrostatic panel weighs nothing. They’re full range with as deep a bass as anyone needs. $3300 used from a local s...
One big reason why brick and mortar high end audio dealers struggle.
To heck with them. Their prices are way too high anyway. Their customer base is rich folks willing to pay top dollar No discount prices anyway. They'll be out of business within 18 months.
Tube vs solid state (with all apologies)
I’m biased towards ML speakers as well. I’ve owned over 12 ML speaker types in my life. I’ve owned Requests. They’re over 20 years old, so I hope yours have had a panel replacement. I currently own Spires and drive them with a 45 watt tube amp whi...
Best Integrated that you've heard under $5k
You’ve got to be nuts if you think you’ve got to spend $5k on an integrated simply to get great sound. There’s nothing worse in this hobby than throwing money at products. I spent $1300 on a new KT88 integrated that also does EL34 tubes and could ...
Recommendation for a highly resolving amp
Let me get this straight. You’ve got a Pass amp and yet you don’t find it resolves enough? There’s nothing worse in this hobby than trying to throw money at an issue that can otherwise be fixed. Your buddies sound is unique to his room. First, wha...
Interesting experience with two very different speaker designs
Anyone suggesting OB’s aren’t very good never heard OB’s. I’ve owned several made of Sapale Rosewood and solid Maple. And each duplicated the best bass I’ve ever heard that was realistic as the actual instrument.
Why so many tubes?
Are you kidding? Have you not heard? Tubes, sound better!
